Responsible for the implementation of the overall technical vision and direction of the Engineering department. Implements business standards, goals, strategies, and objectives (within assigned areas) that are competitive with industry standards and strives to arrive at those goals. Monitors and assists in creating annual and quarterly budgets. Develops and leads a team of dynamic engineering staff and assures work performance is in adherence to company and industry standards. Acts as a technical resource to management across the department and lateral departments.

- Develop and execute strategic facility engineering plans across all Comcast West Division network facilities (space, HVAC, electrical systems, emergency power systems, equipment infrastructure, etc.)
- Define, develop, manage, and report power maintenance routines using formal project management tools and system surveillance data.
- Successfully partner with cross-functional leaders to provide direct support for accomplishing business objectives, with dependencies on facility delivery system readiness.
- Provide direct strategic and tactical support to West Division Regions for providing turnkey deployment of advanced video, voice, and data services.
- Provide electrical engineering consultation and project management support to Regional Power Engineering employees, call centers, National APOPs, Headends, Hubs, and business offices.
- Direct architects, electrical engineers, and building trades to construct, expand, repair, or upgrade buildings, space, HVAC, and power systems.
- Ensure adherence to industry, Corporate and Division standards and guidance.
- Represent the West Division needs and interests in various corporate Facility and Power engineering groups.
- Establish, monitor, and document standards for electrical systems installations, maintenance routines, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop and assist regions with executing preventive maintenance program for network facility, HVAC, AC, DC, UPS, Inverter, generators, and ground systems.
- Provide on-call support for escalated demand maintenance events.
- Review with Division Engineering and XOC on all facility based service impacting events. Determine root cause of events, identifying steps needed to improve MTTR, MTBF, and/or redundant system deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance for technician safety (OSHA), municipal building codes, NEC electrical code, and fire safety ordinances.
- Attend municipal and regulatory meetings to secure permits for building and site development plans.
- Provide direct guidance and subject matter oversight to Division XOC management when power related network events are encountered.
- Assist management with preparing and reviewing annual capital and expense budgets. Manage allocation process for division/nationally funded project activities. Monitor financial and operational objectives.
- Review and approve capital purchases.
- Participate with regions to assist in preparing Engineering budgets.
- Partner with Learning and Development to maintain a continuous learning environment for employees.
- Responsible for meeting all quarterly objectives associated with this position.
- Anticipate future facility/power trends and formulate long-range plans to advance Comcast's mission.

- Assists in creating quarterly and annual budget and monitors and approves all expenditures and capital projects associated with the Engineering department.

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
Engineering
Generally requires 10+ years related experience
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or the recognized equivalent in work experience, or a combination of work experience and education.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of facility and commercial electrical experience.
- At least 4-6 years of telecommunications/cable industry experience.
- At least 7 years of management experience in high growth, high change environments.
- Thorough understanding of Power/Facility technical standards.
- Thorough knowledge of Video, Voice and Data system architectures.
- Thorough knowledge of HFC, IP, and other data transmission networks.
- General knowledge of computer hardware architectures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and development skills.
- Strong planning, analytical, financial, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated history of leadership positions in high volume, fast paced, environment requiring teamwork, flexibility and management of change.
