Director Operations ABB Jefferson City

ABB is seeking a Director of Operations for our Jefferson City, Mo manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for the Manufacturing, Maintenance, Production Scheduling and Shipping Departments for the high volume padmount distribution transformer manufacturing operation. Coordinate the achievement of budget, Operational excellence targets and meeting customer schedules. The role will lead the implementation of ongoing continuous improvement processes and cost out in Operations. The position will ensure safe practices are adhered to while leading and managing over 615 direct and indirect salary and hourly employees.

You’ll work as part of our Power Products team, which engineers solutions and products such as switchgear, capacitors, distribution, and traction transformers. We’re the world’s largest supplier of transformers and recently developed the highest-voltage direct current (DC) transformer ever.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
•Oversee production, maintenance, test floor, process engineering and production scheduling activities for the padmount distribution transformer product lines.
•Manage and achieve budget targets with an Operational budget.
•Responsible for work activities of over 615 direct and indirect salaried and hourly employees
•Meet customer on-time shipment commitments for the padmount distribution transformer product lines
•Achieve annual productivity targets and other Opex targets through the implementation of lean manufacturing processes.
•Achieve annual manufacturing cost reduction and cost out targets.
•Ensure products are built to customer specifications and quality requirements.
•Manage monthly production plan to achieve on-time shipments commitments and revenue forecasts.
•Achieve Safety targets and implement ABB OHS 180001 continuous improvement processes.
•Coordinate workforce training to improve safety, problem solving activities, quality and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering.
•12 plus years of experience working in manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
Preferred Qualifications:
•MBA
•Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Certifications.
•Skills – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Goal achievement and Process Orientation.
•Experience with implementation of productivity improvement, Quality improvement projects and cost reduction processes.
