Facebook is seeking a Director of Hardware Product Engineering to lead the engineering team supporting hardware for Facebook infrastructure. With an ever-expanding coverage space, the team is responsible for a comprehensive set of engineering support provided throughout the life cycle of hardware products. These services include; new product qualification, launch, ramp, sustaining and product end-of-life activities.

Product coverage includes hardware products in our storage, compute, networking, data center and advanced connection technology spaces. This team also has responsibility for all engineering services spanning these hardware products; DFx reviews, product qualification, assurance of line and factory capacity, product test engineering, compliance, end-to-end PLM/Agile/ECO activities, field and in process quality and yield, failure analysis and all transformational process improvements. The ideal person in this role will have a unique blend of real world, practical skills, as well as large-scale product and project experience that will enable them to be equally impactful in strategic initiatives and tactical projects. Responsibilities

Develop a long term vision and plan to grow the impact, coverage and service level of product engineering
Build and lead a world class product engineering team of process, technology, equipment, quality and manufacturing engineers
Provide core engineering services for Facebook infrastructure products
Partner with the Infrastructure Technology Strategy and Sourcing teams to identify and develop technology alternatives at both the component and product level in order to deploy the efficient and performant infrastructure
Partner with field teams to continuously improve the field quality of deployed infrastructure.
Work cross-functionally with sourcing teams to ensure quarterly infrastructure build plans are met or exceeded.

Requirements

BS in an engineering domain.
An advanced degree either in business or technology is preferred.
15+ years of engineering management experience in a technology environment
Experience with outsourced manufacturing operations for hardware products
Hands on experience in NPI launches, product ramp, sustaining support and end-of-life cycle for computer hardware products
Experience with manufacturing and/or precision fabrication processes, component and systems engineering and manufacturing
