Job Description:
As the Director of North American Talent Strategy you will shape our Canadian and US infrastructure and programs to create an integrated talent strategy focused on leadership alignment, employee development and an inclusive environment. If you are a strategic HR professional with a passion for OD and learning, this is an opportunity to work with a blended team of business partners, learning and OD professionals to launch and sustain powerful programs ranging from immersive leadership experiences to multi-cultural awareness opportunities that support our global business direction.
You will be responsible for partnering, coaching and consulting with executive leadership and setting overall talent related strategies for North America. With oversight for Strategic Sourcing, Talent Acquisition, Learning, and Global Talent and Development initiatives in this critical and highly visible role, you will be a key member of an HR leadership team. This role will have the unique opportunity to lead the innovative Life@Sony Employment Brand, Employee Experience & Engagement initiatives committed to Diversity & Inclusion, to work with Employee Resource Groups on progressive programming and to represent North American strategy relating to Sony’s global Employer Value Proposition.
You will be able to use your consultation skills to advise on Transformation Initiatives; Organizational Change Management Strategies; Leadership Development and Performance Management in a global multi-cultural organization.
Skills Needed: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong change management skills, with the ability to integrate them into successful organizational and talent strategies, demonstrated ability to build and develop an effective team.
Qualifications
10+ years cumulative experience in areas of strategic human resources, 5-7 years of experience preferred in performance consulting, change management, learning and/or organizational development with at least 3 years team leadership or supervisory experience
Customer focused, coupling strategic focus with strong execution skills and a results orientation; able to link to business challenges and objectives with tactical execution and results
The capacity to transfer competency knowledge to others, and build capability across the organization
Strong change management skills; experience with organization change implementations and associated deliverables
Strong consultative, diagnostic, organizational, analytic and problem solving skills
Ability to quickly learn a complex business and make connections and identify/implement successful organizational and talent strategies
Confidence, experience, presence, flexibility, strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively, coach, provide feedback, relate and clearly communicate to all levels within the organization, from first level managers to senior executives
Ability to interact and collaborate locally and globally
Able to work in a fast-paced, complex and multi-faceted environment; self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty
Strong project planning, project management and project integration skills, with some vendor relationship management required
Peer leadership, influencing and coaching skills; a genuine team player with a collaborative style
Able to think strategically and make sound, data-based business decisions
Certification in leadership, behavioral, 360 assessment tools preferred; Lominger competencies, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, VOICES, EQ, Crucial Conversations or similar experience is highly desireable
Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred. Coursework in organizational development, or MBA with organizational effectiveness emphasis preferred
