Director Global Business Technology Strategy Innovation EY Alpharetta

As Global Business Technology Strategy & Innovation Leader – Assurance you will play an integral role in helping the global Business Unit’s Technology Officer and his Business Partners to align EY’s overall IT Strategy with the global technology strategy for the Assurance Business. You will also help to define the appropriate implementation approach, support and monitor its implementation and propose course corrections where needed.

As a strategic technology consultant you will help to drive technology-enabled innovation and improve the utilization of technology as a competitive advantage on a world-wide scale. You will be closely collaborating with the Technology Strategy leaders of other business units and our innovation labs. The role will have a solid reporting line to the Global IT Strategy & Innovation Leader and a dotted reporting line to the Global Assurance Technology Officer.

Essential Functions:

• Lead the development of a Business Unit specific technology strategy in line with overall IT strategy
• Develop a practical approach to realizing the strategy and guide its implementation
• Develop Business Solution Strategies for Business Unit’s Core Applications
• Act as a strategic technology consultant and provide Thought Leadership that helps EY to achieve its strategic growth vision.
• Determine the Strategic Technology Innovation Agenda for the Business Unit in close collaboration with our Innovation Center and business leaders
• Monitor progress against strategic goals and propose corrective actions if needed
• Help drive strategic direction of major transformation activities and assess new project demand for strategic fit
• Act as an ambassador for our overall EY IT strategy and the Assurance IT Strategy
• Work closely together with Enterprise Architecture to ensure that Strategy is supported by the right architectures and standards.
• Ensure that Business Unit input gets appropriately reflected in overall IT Strategy.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Exceptional strategic thinking, ability to consider impact and opportunities of a fast changing technology market onto Business Unit, paired with ability to propose practical implementation approaches
• Outstanding communication skills both oral and written paired with the ability to tailor the message to various audiences
• Ability to build relationships in a remote setting and willingness to travel to meet with Technology and Business leaders to ensure effectiveness
• Exceptional decision-making ability, balancing what is right with what is realistic
• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
• Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people from various parts if the Business and IT
• Ability to lead through influence and to deliver results through others
• Ability and willingness to continuously learn
• Possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and an ability to work well under pressure
• Possess a curiosity and a passion towards engaging the imagination of senior level executives in grasping and enabling the fundamentals of change;
• Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives, and to influence cross-cultural teams
• English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
• Expert to Proficient at Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Advanced degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience
• Relevant strategic work experience in the Accounting industry or related disciplines (Big 4 experience preferred)
• Proven track record for having successfully influenced the Business Unit technology strategy of a large, multinational company
