Audit Director Global Effectiveness PepsiCo Purchase

This high-visibility position's primary responsibilities include driving the continuous development and improvement of the audit methodology by designing and building audit tools and techniques to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the audit processes. As well, this role is responsible for working directly with the SVP and General Auditor on department-wide initiatives, including but not limited to, executive presentations, audit committee documents and special projects. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the development, execution and governance of the Corporate Audit Strategic Capability Plan.

Quality Assurance:

This role is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of quality of audit work papers in accordance with the proscribed audit methodology through our internally-developed quality assurance (QA) program. The candidate will be responsible for the work of one direct report who is dedicated to reviewing approximately 60 audit files per year and issuing QA reports to the SVP and General Auditor as well as the Sr. Directors and Director responsible for each audit.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

The candidate for this role is responsible for working with one direct to manage all aspects of the $20 million Corporate Audit budget, as well as the processes of periodic forecasting and reporting to the PepsiCo Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis group. This role will monitor the overall budget, work with the audit leadership team to perform detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance to plan and forecast and prepare reporting for the SVP and General Auditor.

Risk Assessment and Annual Operating Plan:

The annual risk assessment process is owned by this role, which includes working with the audit leadership team to establish the risk assessment framework, embed key learnings from previous risk assessments to continually enhance the risk assessment process, consolidate sector-specific risk assessments performed by leadership team, review and challenge assumptions, and present the overall assessment to the leadership team annually. As a result of the risk assessment, this role will take the output from the risk assessment to work with the leadership team to create the annual operating plan, which is presented to the PepsiCo CFO and the Audit Committee annually.

Training and Development:

This role will be responsible for partnering and collaborating with the Corporate Audit leadership team in the design, development, and build of the technical audit training agenda and corresponding training materials by facilitating and teaching at the Corporate Audit annual training event. Further, the candidate will also be responsible for developing and facilitating the agenda for the Fall Leadership Meeting as well as three to four Corporate Audit All Hands WebEx calls throughout the year.

Audit Execution:

This role will also have responsibility for executing two to three audits each year, whereby the candidate will provide leadership in the planning and execution of select financial and operation audits gaining valuable, practical experience that will challenge existing audit practices, tools and techniques and promote continuous improvement. In addition, audit execution will facilitate a deeper knowledge of the PepsiCo businesses, as well as provide the candidate with critical exposure to key PepsiCo leadership that will facilitate future career planning.

Key responsibilities of conducting audits include:

Present proposed audit scope and approach to SVP Corporate Audit
Facilitate workshops with business to understand process flows for in-scope processes, identifying key financial, IT, operational and compliance risks and assess the adequacy of controls in place to mitigate risks
Identify the key controls to test and monitoring activities to assess during the audit. Review the results of testing, providing timely coaching to audit team members
Conduct weekly status update meetings with management. For any opportunities identified, communicate the issue, root cause and financial statements or profitability impact. Partner with management to develop cost-effective remediation plans
Identify best practices during audit engagements and share them across business units and locations


Qualifications:

10+ years of accounting/control or finance experience; financial planning and analysis experience preferred
Bachelor's Degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)
Previous Big 4 Public Accounting experience and/or CPA strongly preferred
Master's in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
Prior consumer products goods (CPG) experienced preferred
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Ability to work in matrix organization; handle competing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and proven collaboration/teamwork experience
Must be willing and able to travel approximately 45% - 65% of the time
