We are looking for a dynamic team player with exceptional writing skills and a blend of corporate communications and public relations (positioning, messaging, media relations, crisis communications and executive visibility) experience. The ideal candidate will be a communications strategist with strong project management skills that thrives in a deadline-oriented environment.

This position is based in Visa's Foster City location and reports into the Corporate Communications Function.
Align closely with business leaders and other PR / corporate communications team members to develop messaging and ensure key announcements, milestones and business issues are communicated to clients and the sales team effectively and in a timely manner.
Develop and execute proactive communications plans designed to reach financial institution / merchant clients (customers) and the global sales organization to help demonstrate Visa's value to and build stronger relationships with clients, and drive preference for Visa.
Help develop global client and sales team communications framework and establish functional best practices, including materials and protocols for global client / sales communications. Liaise with regional corporate relations partners on client and sales communications efforts.
Develop executive content for Visa-hosted client forums, industry events and meetings as needed.
In coordination with the media relations and public affairs teams, establish and manage appropriate trade and business media relationships and respond to inquiries related to rules, pricing and acceptance.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sales and client support team partners; serve as a key source of information and corporate relations liaison for sales and client services teams.
Undertake special projects as needed.

Qualifications

At least 10 years communications experience in corporate communications, partner communications, public affairs, and/or crisis management in an agency or corporate environment.
Track record of counseling senior executive and establishing productive relationships.
Proven experience successfully managing global communications programs.
Experience managing direct and indirect teams in a highly matrixed environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to distill and tailor complex information for key audiences.
Experience developing and managing detailed, integrated communications plans to achieve measurable objectives.
Proven strategic communications counselor to executive audiences - but also willing to roll up sleeves to get work done. Role will combine strategic and "hands on" responsibilities.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple projects, often on short deadlines and under pressure.
Effective team player who demonstrates proactive thinking and can lead efforts across disciplines.
Successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, and flexibility, with a focus on generating quality work and driving measurable results.
