The work typically includes understanding the current architecture that the service provider/MSO has deployed and how to evolve such architecture over time, given future services, business drivers, emerging standards, industry trends and ALU’s product portfolio. In addition to the architecture definition, a project will typically require high-level design, network/equipment dimensioning and TCO analysis. You will be the lead consultant for Optical in a variety of projects, which include network convergence, IP-Optical integration, network evolution and mobile backhaul of core backbone and aggregation networks. You will also conduct second opinion analysis in selected engagements. Bell Labs’ proprietary tools and models will be used for many of the analyses. Training and mentoring in the use of these proprietary tools and models will be provided, as needed, to help the interested candidate grow and develop in this space as rapidly as possible.
