Edelman New York’s Corporate & Public Affairs Practice is seeking a senior, dedicated professional to join its Crisis & Reputation Risk team. The successful candidate will be an exceptional crisis and issues management practitioner, will have deep experience in managing accounts and building strategic new business proposals and will be a strong mentor to junior staff. This is a senior position within Edelman with an emphasis on client counsel, development of crisis and issues plans and business development.
Work with senior personnel to respond to requests for crisis and issues management, including NY-specific and regional, acting as counsel to clients, and coordinating teams delivering crisis and issues support
Ability to lead crisis, crisis preparedness or issues management accounts from proposal to billing stage
Provide strategic counsel, guidance and leadership to junior staff, and ensuring the team's success by managing work quality and productivity levels
Work with senior leaders in the firm to grow the crisis and issues business within New York, including for example networking, lead-generation, pursuing and leveraging partnerships, thought leadership and editorial opportunities
Effectively help manage staff utilization to meet profitability targets
Contribute to the development of IP and best practices
Qualifications:
The Vice President must have at least 9 years of relevant experience in the public relations or marketing field
Ability to “hold your own” with tough clients
Ability to navigate complexity
Ability to navigate internal client politics
Strong presentation skills and ability to ideate on the spot/actively participate in group discussions
Results and solutions-orientated
Master project management; always looking to streamline operations/process to make the team more nimble
Exercises creative problem solving skills
Understands when the client isn’t asking the right question, and can counsel them toward the right one
