The Senior Editorial Director, Creative Content Production will be an essential creative video lead for the hugely important cross network, co-branded entertainment group – Viacom Velocity. Working closely with VP, Creative Directors, he/she will not only bring enormous creativity to the role, but also think strategically about developing video franchises and innovative new-media pieces that will make Viacom Velocity part of the national conversation well into the future.

This position will primarily work on integrated, advertiser-focused solutions that can run across on-air, digital and social and print. Work also includes business-to-business and internal facing creative work to advance Velocity's goals and presence within the industry. This individual should be a leader within the project team, helping to manage the project, facilitating communication and collaboration and driving everyone towards a solution.

This position fits into multiple categories within the business structure – as he/she needs to be a visual storyteller who likes to see a project from conception to finished product, from ideating to producing to shooting to editing. This position requires someone with a passion for creating content – and at multiple stages – from innovative video playing within pitch decks – to short form and long form content.

An individual seeking this position will also have a key role in the bigger picture: As we redefine our content strategy to maximize fan engagement, traffic, branding, and ad revenue, he/she will be asked to think creatively about new ways to engage our audience through video, both as a whole and key segments.

Responsibilities

Ideate, write, produce, shoot and edit digital videos and on-going series for our brands, plus our digital and social platforms that deliver value and utility
Help us develop a video distribution strategy – potentially working with multiple IM teams
Monitor audience behaviors via in-house data and analytics tools, and respond by delivering video content that resonates
Help develop a calendar of video plans
Basic Qualifications

3+ years’ experience producing and editing video, ideally with a specialty in how-to content and in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Degree in broadcast journalism, digital video production, film, mass communication, multimedia arts or other related field, or relevant work experience
Fluency in video editing (including Adobe Premiere), color correction, audio editing, and photo editing (Photoshop).
Additional Qualifications

Skill at shooting video and capturing audio using DSLR/mirror less cameras and many other digital cinema packages on multiple levels
Experience in motion graphics (After Effects) preferred.
Experience with Red Camera plug-ins like Trapcode Particular and is also a bonus.
