The Sr. Director of Global Social Strategy will set an ambitious vision to be “Young, Fearless and Aggressive” across global social platforms. They are responsible for authoring the strategy, developing the roadmap to get there, and how to judge our progress. The Sr. Director will set the global standards, KPIs, lead education around the platforms and audience behavior, create key strategic partnerships, and lead ideation around the Brand’s tent pole events. The position will act as the Global Center for Excellence working across categories, marketing, creative, production and consumer insight teams to ensure effective campaigns and tactics.

What will you do?
Articulate an overall vision and outcome for Under Armour social platforms
Serve as a Global Center of Excellence for all regions
Author our Global Best Practices, and guidelines
Help develop a social content strategy for brand
Establish KPIs, benchmarks and drive an understanding of metrics and use of analytics to inform marketing strategy
Lead the strategy and ideation of how to best use earned platforms for tent pole brand and category moments
Be a creative storytelling champion for digital strategy internally and externally
Use analytics and data to drive consumer insights into strategy and actionable tactics
Stay on the bleeding edge of emerging trends, consumer behaviors and emerging media
Define and help bring to life experiences that surprise, delight and add unprecedented value to athletes across the globe
Help define content strategy and distribution approach for the Under Armour brand and the categories
Ideate around strategically aligned content that capitalizes on emerging trends, behaviors, technologies, platforms and publishers
Own the recommendation and selection of all tools and services
Manage Under Armour’s test and learn media portfolio including selection of partners, objectives, anticipated learning, execution, and results
Monitor and drive competitive and industry best practices as well as lessons from UA executed social media programs to refresh and update trainings, playbooks, standards and related internal guidance documents on at least an annual basis, or as needed.
Provide thought leadership, share best practices and consult with Sports Marketing and Brand Management teams to share best practices across UA platforms
Recruit, develop and retain top digital content talent
Communicate and align strategy with key internal and external stakeholders. This means being a self-starter and go-getter. Lead the conversation.
What have you accomplished already?
College Degree required, MBA preferred
Minimum 15 years’ work experience in advertising, marketing, media and technology
Be an active and engaged member of the digital community (social media, blogging, etc.)
Established relationships at executive levels throughout media, agency, marketing and technology industries.
Prior experience working for a global company with a strong, premium brand and a distinct culture.
Experience working for either a start-up or high-growth organization is a plus.
Proven leadership skills in managing a strong, experienced and diverse team.
Experience conducting business and partnering with executives and staff in multiple regions globally, a plus.
Proven global citizen through travel and diversity of experiences.
Deep knowledge of social media platforms, in terms of managing a branded identity as well as marketing and targeting capabilities available to brands
Proven experience implementing social media continuity programs and campaigns leveraging paid, owned and earned tactics across multiple social platforms
Strong analytical skills with the ability to look at the broader perspective as it relates to business strategy
Experience managing multiple external agencies/vendors to consistently and effectively deliver world-class strategies based on consumer insights with measureable results
Strong interpersonal skills, influence management and collaborative working style – ability to inspire, motivate and lead cross-functional teams to achieve goals
Results driven, ensuring short-term goals are achieved that support long-term initiatives
Entrepreneurial and energetic – engaged in new trends and ideas, keeps abreast of digital innovations; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and bring clarity and structure to ambiguous situations
