Senior Business Planner Minecraft Microsoft Bellevue

As a Senior Business Planner for Minecraft, you will be responsible for identifying new step function growth opportunities that drive the next wave of growth for our franchise. This includes evaluating new business opportunities, analyzing the market and competitive space, conducting research, and deriving key insights about audiences, partners, and competition. This role requires strong business chops, an entrepreneurial attitude, and the ability to influence senior leaders.

You should excel at spotting trends early and breaking down complex problems in a data driven way. You are expected to produce defensible, differentiated, actionable insights and recommendations and will have great impact by influencing at the CVP level through strategic framing, thought leadership and business insights. Equally important is the ability to lead and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.

Job Requirements:
Demonstrate hypothesis-driven problem solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses; sound business judgment and problem framing
Exceptional executive level oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high priority projects
Strong financial/business modeling and analysis skills; deal experience preferred
A love for team-based work in a high intensity environment
A “question the status quo” and entrepreneurial mindset; a love for learning and natural curiosity
Exceptionally strong personal initiative, good business instincts, and comfort with ambiguity


Qualifications
Minimum 5-8 years of strategic consulting, business development, product management or core finance -demonstrated abilities in developing strategy
Ability to think strategically and in a structured manner, to solve complex and ambiguous problems
Fluency with analytical frameworks, and deep quantitative skills including modeling, statistical analysis, business case development and market sizing
Deep understanding of software and business technology markets, trends, and dynamics
Proven project management capabilities; comfortable working under demanding deadlines and producing senior executive level deliverables
Ability to influence senior executives and product development teams through strategic framing, thought leadership and business insights
Strong business insight and judgment, and instinct for technology businesses (or other fast-evolving, competitively intense, and economically complex industries)
High tolerance for ambiguity and ability analyze/diagnose complex product and business challenges, formulate insights and recommendations, and motivate the broader organization to action with limited guidance
Ability to deliver cross-organization impact spanning partnerships with marketing, engineering, PR, and finance
Outstanding communication skills
Passion for gaming and or subscription business preferred
BS/BA degree, MBA preferred
