The People Operations (POps) Flex team is a small, cross-functional People Operations group with Google POps and industry HR knowledge and implementation experience. We’re solely dedicated to supporting the transition of Other Bets to independent HR functions. As the People Operations Alphabet Benefits Program Manager, you will be working across all Other Bets and partnering with their HR leaders to identify and design benefits strategies and programs which best suit their businesses. Each Bet requires a tailored approach fit for their industry, size, geographic footprint, and growth while keeping benefits regulations and compliance in mind.

Responsibilities
Work closely with Bet HR leaders to gain understanding of the business and advise on company benefits philosophy, plan design, and overall health/wellness programs.
Offer thought leadership regarding benefits strategy and execution. Provide insightful data to guide decision making and offer proactive solutions.
Partner with Google Benefits team to evaluate and understand how varying benefits delivery across Bets may affect existing Alphabet benefits programs.
Understand and forecast trends to assist with future benefits designs. Understand benefits compliance applicable to government regulations and advise on compliance testing and audit procedures.
Develop company cost information for new plans and advise on cost sharing between employer and employee. Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and evaluate proposals while working with Bet HR leaders to make a decision that aligns with company philosophy.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of relevant work experience.
6 years of experience in Benefits consulting, strategy and/or programs.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience designing, developing and implementing employee benefits policies and programs.
Experience managing vendor relationship and implementations, including Request for Information and Request for Proposal processes.
In-depth knowledge of the global Benefits marketplace including differences (strengths/weaknesses) between insurers, marketplace trends, benchmarking and changes in the legislative framework affecting benefits.
