The Office Research team within CMR is looking for a research and business consultant to support Office Marketing. More than a billion people use Office; it’s truly a product that’s at the heart of the revolution in how we use technology. This position will stretch and develop your skills. The role is focused on informing our efforts to grow our consumer business, particularly through Office 365. Office 365 is one of the big bets for Microsoft as we transition to being a “cloud first and mobile first” company.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide consultation to Microsoft Office Marketing - specifically Business planners - in framing key business questions.
Provide leadership by recommending research methods that address these business questions, and execute the research.
Driving “proactive insight analyses” and flash polls to help drive insight around emergent Devices product marketing needs
Proactively and routinely share forward-thinking market and audience insights in this space.
Collaborate with other research managers in the execution, analysis and presentation of insights to ensure a holistic understanding of the business issues.
Contribute to building a research consulting organization that delivers actionable and relevant insights that drive tangible business outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
5-8 years of research or strategy consulting work experience, preferably 4 or more years of technology industry experience.
The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to create and manage the execution of research projects, generate customer and market insights, and tie these insights to business recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree, with a graduate degree in business, market research or a social science preferred or equivalent industry experience.
Necessary skills
Solid critical thinking skills (e.g., the ability to conceptual frame problems and to identify creative solutions).
Business acumen and the ability to derive strategic business implications from disparate forms of information.
Flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity
Experience conducting & managing multi-faceted market research programs (qualitative and quantitative) including study design, vendor management and project management
The ability to work collaboratively within and across teams, and confidence in interacting with senior business partners, executives, and their teams
Polished communication and presentation skills
