Amazon Game Studios is looking for a Senior Game Development Engineer with broad game development experience and strong software engineering skills. The ideal candidate is a natural problem solver with a passion for gaming, enjoys working with artists and game designers, enjoys finishing projects, and obsesses about the quality of the game constantly.
The Role
Be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying major new game features. Ensure features are integrated cleanly with existing features and platform infrastructure.
Own broad game feature(s)/system(s) end-to-end.
Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments.
Help drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class game.
Be a champion for the gamer: Build games that thrill and entertain our players and constantly create new ways to delight customers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, working on multi-discipline teams.
At least one released game on which you were a primary contributor. Self-published titles are acceptable.
Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
Advanced software engineering skills, including the ability to write expert-level, maintainable, and robust code in a popular object oriented language like C#, C++, or Java.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of game development experience with multiple shipped titles.
Has contributed source code changes to an in-house or third-party game engine.
Is able to work with constantly changing requirements and produces software that is adaptable to changing conditions.
Specialized skills in a particular area of game development (e.g., AI, UI, physics, graphics, multiplayer).
Experience working on large-scale, commercial online game services.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively on shared projects with designers, artists, testers, and other developers.
