Senior Director Supply Chain Planning HEINEKEN White Plains

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Planning is a key leadership position within Operations. The role has responsibility for ensuring that the right product gets to the Distributor at the right time for all of Heineken’s portfolios.
The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure effective management, interacting with Commercial, Marketing, Finance and other Operations functions to identify and meet business requirements at a strategic and executional level. The role also works closely with other Heineken Global partners to ensure effective end-to-end supply chain management. Externally the role engages with Distributors and other key Stakeholders necessary to perform and deliver the requirements of the role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Planning will achieve excellence in ensuring the availability of inventory through effective management of demand planning, S&OP, supply planning and replenishment and inventory optimization. The role is divided between strategic orientation and operational execution as required. The role will be required to achieve the following deliverables including but not limited to:

1. Lead and Manage the Supply Chain Planning Teams
Lead and manage Supply Chain Planning Teams, enabling an environment for continued high performance, including:
• Define team structure, role definition and talent development (including recruitment and succession planning)
• Define objectives setting and support to ensure delivery, providing day-to-day guidance to ensure operational execution
• Ensure key skills development
• Facilitate the formal and informal feedback processes during calibration ensuring effective performance management
• Develop and implement Heineken cultural behaviours including ‘safety first’ as a priority

2. Supply Chain Planning, Forecasting and S&OP
Implement effective supply chain planning, incorporating demand forecasting, S&OP, supply planning and replenishment.
• Undertake statistical demand forecasting ensuring the right level of information and insight (sku, zone, region, national etc)
• Consolidate the demand forecasting and ensure an agreed plan
• Lead the S&OP process at both a National and Executive level ensuring business sign-off
• Ensure effective supply planning and replenishment modelling and translate into an agreed inventory plan
• Work with all key business stakeholders to ensure alignment

3. Define and Implement Inventory Supply Solutions
• Provide input to supply chain strategy and define and implement inventory solutions aligned with network logistics to ensure the optimized flow of product from brewery to delivery.
• Build analysis and insights to understand Heineken USA brand portfolio, sku requirements, volume projections, marketing and sales strategies etc to enable effective solution design
• Implement a dynamic inventory solution from ‘source to delivery’, balancing service, costs and capability
• Define the supply methodologies (direct shipment, replenishment etc) ensuring an agile approach across Heineken portfolio’s
• Analyze Distributor route-to-market, including sales and depletions to understand optimum demand point requirements

4. Inventory Management and Optimization
• Ensure effective inventory management to deliver sustained business value.
• Undertake a detailed budget planning exercise and align with Finance to agree inventory targets
• Undertake analysis to enable inventory optimization ensuring right levels of stock in the supply chain
• Ensure effective inventory control including inventory coverage (day’s on hand), stock turn and minimizing stock write-off’s
• Deliver effective product life cycle management incorporating sku introduction, sku performance and rationalization
• Ensure the necessary processes and systems are in place to improve inventory performance

5. Heineken Supply Relationships
• Optimize the supply of product from all Heineken supply locations (e.g. Breweries, warehouses etc).
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to optimize the flow of product from all Heineken supply locations ensuring the demand and supply replenishment plans are achieved
• Serve as the primary interface between Heineken USA and Heineken Supply Locations ensuring effective joint business planning and the delivery of mutual objectives

6. Performance Management
• Deliver a culture of performance management and ensure delivery of agreed performance metrics.
• Define relevant KPI’s and success factors for demand and supply planning (e.g., inventory coverage, supply on time etc)
• Agree performance targets to stretch the business, balancing inventory, cost and service to deliver sustained business value and Implement actions that will ensure achievement of performance metrics
• Provide a comprehensive and clear KPI reporting suite demonstrating performance levels and insights
• Implement a ‘review and resolve’ cycle to address any areas of sub-optimal performance, ensuring corrective action
• Create an environment of performance excellence within the Team
• Support a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach to identifying and eliminating loss and waste within supply chain planning, utilizing relevant and appropriate business tools to drive improvements

7. Compliance and Governance
Ensure governance and compliance with all internal and external obligations for inventory management.
• Ensure clarity and compliance of all obligations including but not limited to Heineken policy, legal, statutory, FDA, etc

8. Other
Member of the Operations Leadership Team
Participate fully as a member of the Operations Leadership Team with responsibility for providing input to the Operations Strategy, Performance and Continuous Improvement of the function.

• Collaborate with key business Stakeholders to Identify and resolve any critical issues impacting the business
• Includes both key internal and external relationships:
o Heineken USA – Key business functions including Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Other
o Heineken Business Units – Global, Regional and Heineken Supply relationships
o Distributors – Key relationships within the Distributor Network
o Other Stakeholders – As required

Key Competencies and Skills:

The role requires an experienced and strong business leader with the necessary capabilities to ensure the successful delivery of the role requirements and deliver sustainable business value.

Role Profile
• Educated to Degree Level (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Finance or other relevant subject)
• 10+ years senior level experience in Operations / Supply Chain gained within the CPG Industry
• Demonstrable supply chain strategy and execution capability
• Extensive knowledge of demand forecasting, supply chain planning and inventory management
• Experience of leading and motivating a high performance Team
