The Director Communications reports to the Chief Communications Officer for the US with frequent interaction with US business executives as well as national and overseas communications counterparts. The Director will be responsible for the overall communications strategy and activities to support the firm’s operations in the Northeast, which includes New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, New Haven and Boston.

This position will support several strategic business goals including increasing the firm’s reputation among clients, prospects, potential recruits, and the public at large; supporting the increased collaboration across the firm’s business units and geographies; supporting marketing on a local office level; and, engaging employees in the firm’s strategy and corporate initiatives. The Director’s responsibilities include writing collateral for the firm’s offerings, drafting executive communications, developing and implementing communications plans to roll out new initiatives, managing crises, managing a regional budget and serving as a regional spokesperson.


Job Skills & Abilities Guidelines
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills required
Proven ability to develop and place stories in national and trade press
Expertise in both internal and external communications including marketing, public relations, crisis communications, and employee communications.
Experience in a public relations firm or experience managing a public relations firm
Background/knowledge of the construction industry is key

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree
At least 12 years’ experience in communications
