The .NET Developer Senior Manager will work on both business and architecture initiatives and is expected to work on multiple such initiatives simultaneously. The senior manager will be responsible for participating in team meetings and communicating appropriate project status to leadership; coordinating projects and technology resources, ensuring that the software development lifecycle activities are consistent with firm standards and account for project financials; and will be part of a team of peers working on the architecture of data-driven web applications. Additional responsibilities include:
Tool research, tool evaluation, documenting patterns and standards, defining technology strategy, and technology evaluation and recommendation in addition to mentoring the development team through formal and informal training and occasional hands-on assistance.
Design and architect scalable, distributed web applications and web services.
Design/develop critical framework components/reusable modules.
Vision setting, researching, training, and leading all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Work with STAC technology leaders to create and maintain a Technology Roadmap.
Help product ownership in the estimation process.
Communicate professionally and effectively to clients, management, and other departments.
Manage teams of onshore/offshore Deloitte professionals and contractor resources.
Document technical findings/decisions and make technical presentations to the team.
Fully understand and define scope of technical software projects.
Maintain, improve, and optimize our software offerings and development processes.
Establish, maintain, and adhere to set of development standards.
Qualifications
Required:
15+ years' experience building applications, including browser-based consumer/client-facing applications with exceptional design skills
Experience with .NET, JavaScript MV* frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, EmberJS, BackboneJS, KnockoutJS), and ASP.Net, C#, Ajax, ADO.net
8+ years' experience as a technology manager, managing teams, providing technical leadership/guidance/mentorship (direction setting and articulating, consensus building, conflict mediation, etc.)
Deep understanding of design patterns and architectural patterns and extensive, real-world experience with modern patterns, including microservices architecture and webapi 2.0 REST
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business information systems, business/technology, or a related field
Experience with Agile Scrum development process
Familiarity with popular IOC (inversion of control) containers such as Unity or Castle Windsor
Experience with source control, Microsoft Excel-based reporting from web applications, SQL Server 2012/2014; and database design, querying, stored procedures, views, joins, performance, etc.
Experience managing projects, budgets, and ROI
Experience overseeing multiple projects from a technical perspective
Experience with multi-tier system development
Experience building and supporting mission-critical applications
Software prototyping experience
Experience working with teams in disparate geographic locations
Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to set the direction when there is little or no oversight.
Comfortable in a fast-pace environment
Excellent analytic problem-solving, critical-thinking skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Available to travel up to 30% of your time
