The Director, Performance Product Manager, will provide business leadership/management of the technology platform and associated business processes that support the PAS managed accounts business. In this role, the Director will participate in strategic, marketplace, or other necessary analysis to identify platform or process enhancements that support our product strategy and present proposals to management for funding approval.
The Director will be accountable for the successful commercial launch of new platform functionality and process enhancements post funding approval. Successful execution of this position requires strong relationships with key business partners including Strategic Advisers' (Fidelity's Internal Investment Manager), marketing/Client Experience, product development, platform development, product support, communications, retail distribution, legal & compliance, finance, technology and solution delivery.


Primary Responsibilities

The PAS Platform team’s responsibilities include the identification and coordination of performance & analytic product line enhancements to end customer touch points including Fidelity.com and written communications. This resource will be responsible for leading the strategy to define a future state capability set related to performance reporting and analytics needs to support the current and future growth of our product line. In order to execute against this strategy they will need to interface closely with our client experience team, SAI investment management and platform resources to evaluate and implement performance platform solutions.
Lead performance project effort to define and establish the future platform(s) to support our performance & analytic needs
Responsible for working with Client Experience partners, investment team representatives and distribution to define future performance and analytic needs
Partner with quantitative resources in the Asset Management division to define methodology for analytics as input into solution design.
Support identifying and documenting the business opportunity, high level product design, customer experience, operational impact, and project resources required.
Evaluate proposed technology solutions as input into performance and analytic solution recommendations.
Liaison with technology for project execution
Coordinate and drive analytic solutions in support or reinforcement of value proposition throughout customer experience deliverables.
Conduct R&D on performance analytics for current state monitoring and future application in the customer experience

Product Marketing Support: Collaborate with client experience/marketing communications to supply performance data & analytics to reinforce value proposition in customer experience deliverables. In this capacity this role should bring thought leadership to the discussion around potential ways to re-inforce our value proposition as well as the ability to conduct R&D to prove out the anticipated results of a proposed analytic.

Business Partner Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholder across PAS, PWI and business partners in order to form organizational consensus on issues and ensuring consistency in the representation of the business. Interact with all levels of business opportunity; inform the high level product design, customer and representative experience.

Business Requirements Support: Contribute as subject matter expert to the definition of business requirements related to new products and services including product features, investment structure, and operating plan. Support impact analysis of project/product (e.g. new customer experience, technologies, applications and or work flows) on customer and rep experience.

Product Distribution: Partner with distribution to understand product opportunities from a representative/advisor servicing perspective. Leverage industry and competitive knowledge identify solutions to fill gaps.

Legal, Risk, Compliance (LRC): Partner with LRC organizations to seek input on proposed analytics, understand legal parameters as input into a analytics usage, define appropriate disclosures prior to deployment and partner in support of any legal/compliance inquiry or service recovery.

Product Support: Partner with colleagues in product support to engage them in discretionary project development, champion their support requirements and manage the successful transition of production analytics to product support.

Project Management: The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation on project management and execution. Although most projects will have formal project management/analysis support, some efforts require this role to manage this process individually.

Communicate Status: Communicate the status of product development deliverables concisely and effectively to all levels of management. This includes proactive engagement on management input prior to setting project /methodology direction.

Risk Mitigation: This role should remain current on industry standards related to performance displays and maintain a focus on risk mitigation through the deployment of new performance displays.

Ad-Hoc Strategic Projects: As required, this individual will work with sales, client management, risk, SAI, finance, technology, and marketing to drive new strategic product initiatives

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Minimum of 8-10 years of financial industry experience
Industry certifications: CFA/CIPM/Series 7
Bachelor Degree required, MBA or other advanced degree a plus
Investment product management experience including mutual funds, ETFs, or managed account programs - Mutual Fund Account (MFA), Separately Managed Accounts (SMA), Unified Managed Account (UMA), Unified Managed Household (UMH).
Advanced level knowledge of performance and analytic methodologies and standards
Familiarity with technical solution deployment in support of performance & analytic solutions
Project execution/project management experience
Skills/Knowledge
Product management experience in reporting & analytics, ideally managed accounts or other investment products
Prior experience with Marketing or client experience functions
Solid understanding of financial markets, investment products, and business and competitive environment
Proven ability to implement new products/enhancements, processes, and business opportunities.
Strong interpersonal and organization skills including the ability to manage by influence and build relationships at all organization levels.
Project management skills including project planning, status and issue management
Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle
Excellent communication skills including proposal/presentation development and delivery, and meeting facilitation
