Director Educational Policy Harvard University Boston

The Director of Educational Policy provides strategic leadership and direction on educational policy and educational programs across the School. The Director is one of the senior leaders in the Office of Education and a senior educational leader at the School. Specific responsibilities in each major area of responsibility include:
Educational Policy:
Provides strategic and administrative support for educational programs at the School. This includes analysis, development and implementation of new educational policies, and providing support to critical education policy making groups, including the Committee on Educational Policy, and the Education Council.

New Educational Programs:
Provides strategic advice and guidance in the development and implementation of new educational programs, including program proposals, curricula, courses, and program policies and procedures.

Educational Assessment and Evaluation:
Leader in developing and responsible for administering educational evaluation and assessment methods to ensure ongoing education improvement, including course evaluations, surveys of graduates, and periodic reviews of degree programs.

Accreditation:
Primary oversight of the School’s accreditation activities, including the preparation of the self-study document for the periodic reaccreditation of the School, and all required reporting to the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), including substantive change reports.

Other Accreditation and Education Reporting:
Responsible for overseeing and supporting other accreditation and education reporting, including: reports to the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH); Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency (OEMR) Program annual report and program updates; ACGME accreditation; supporting the School’s Graduate Medical Education Council(GMEC); any reporting required for Harvard University accreditation.

Special Initiatives:
Manages special educational projects and initiatives, as requested by the Dean,Academic Dean and Senior Associate Dean for Professional Education.

Basic Qualifications *Master’s degree required.
*8+ years of administrative management experience required.
*Management and supervisory experience, including a record of creating a work environment of strong performance, staff development, and recognition, required.

Additional Qualifications *Experience in program administration, preferably in an educational and/or University setting.
*Experience communicating with faculty, department chairs, staff, and executive leadership.
*Proven ability to innovate and manage change.
*Proven interpersonal skills and proven ability to work and communicate effectively.
*Proven written and oral communication skills.
*Experience problem-solving, communicating, and using organizational skills.
*Proven ability to get results.
*Experienced negotiator and consensus builder.
*Highly motivated and self-directed with experience handling and prioritizing multiple projects, balancing conflicting priorities.
*Proven team player, with proven experience in collaborating and partnering across a wide variety of organizational departments.
*Customer service orientation.
