The Content Team at TuneIn is seeking an experienced executive to lead programming and engagement for TuneIn's content platform. In addition to managing current owned & operated initiatives, this executive will be responsible for building and collaborating on a long term content vision & strategy.
Responsibilities:
Develop business modeling process to evaluate existing and prospective content partnerships to evaluate the cost of content per listening hour and value across all TuneIn content formats.
Evaluate all existing content deals to determine best path to maximize value in the near term and long term strategy for renegotiation.
Analyze content trends, identifying & evaluating emerging audio content and acquiring audio content.
Measure and improve the breadth, depth and timeliness of content to drive best on platform retentiveness for TuneIn owned and operated content.
Work with business intelligence team to build a dash board to measure TuneIn’s large third party content investments and owned & operated content.
Study TuneIn's current platform audience to measure and set listening goals and targets for each of the five audio formats (news, talk, sports, music, audiobooks).
Track and maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly targets of prospective content partners.
Drive prospective M&A strategy to identify and evaluate targets that will help to accelerate our content goals to improve on-demand/podcast experience, terrestrial content syndication, and best in class content partner tool set.
Identify, recruit, and hire a team of best in content leaders to expand TuneIn’s owned and operated channels.
Develop strategy for localized premium targets to close partners in top twenty TuneIn markets to enhance the value proposition in international territories.
Serve as the main liaison to collaborate with the content, sales, marketing, engineering, product and finance teams to drive our owned and operated content initiatives.
Work cross-functionally and collaborate with sales to generate revenue-generating sponsorship opportunities from TuneIn’s strategic content investments.
Work with content operations and marketing to develop and implement editorial plans to highlight relevant content through browse banners, push notifications, featuring within a specific format genre.
Monitor competition closely to assess competitive advantages and disadvantages of other mobile audio platforms against TuneIn.
Proactively communicate to TuneIn’s 400+ content partners to make them aware of TuneIn platform benefits, tools, emerging third party distribution partners.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate has crossed the intersections of media & entertainment, technology, business development, finance, licensing, at a large media company and has the ability and willingness to pivot on a daily basis from strategic to tactical.
At least 10 years experience in the media & entertainment business and at least one past work history engagement at a startup company.
Knowledgeable and passionate about the audio space and the news, talk, sports, and music formats.
