As the Group Director, Shopper Marketing, you will lead the WalMart and Sam’s dedicated Shopper Marketing Team that develops the shopper marketing strategies, agendas and plans for Walmart as a virtual part of customer account team. The role leads integration of customers strategies and brand identity with Coke’s category and brand strategies initiatives. The Group Director, Shopper Marketing will own the customer CMO and senior marketing lead contact point, focusing on building collaborative relationship with customer’s insights/analytical /marketing groups. The Group Director also collaborates with System to drive sustainable volume and profit growth with customer across out total beverage portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Develops short and long term shopper marketing plans to support portfolio and brand growth targets
Create and leverage a senior marketing level dialogue with Customer’s Marketing or Strategy Lead to drive plans and strategies that create mutual brand value and positive business results
Builds, develops and manages SM team to drive development and commercialization of Shopper Marketing Plans and Programs
Build and leverage a network of non-competing Shopper Marketers from other CPG’s working on same customer
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
Experience Required
13-18 years’ experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry
Extensive Strategic Marketing Experience (e.g. Brand Management)
Experience building and monitoring annual business plans
Demonstrated reputation for customer engagement with ability to drive mutual business results
Build and leverage a network of non-competing Shopper Marketers from other CPG’s working on same customer
Planning experience; strategic thinking (forward-looking vision and anticipating of future needs)
Proven track record for delivering sustainable results
Shopper insights, category management and shopper marketing experience
Collaborating with brand/category teams and other key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing wide variety of stakeholders, particularly in situations where Commercial leadership may have accountability for doing the work but may not have control over all decisions impacting the work
Effectively communicates & builds relationships at all organizational levels
Strong People Management Skills
Propensity for creative problem-solving and opportunity identification (to improve service to rest of business/customer engagement)
