The Director, R&D Development Sciences IT is a critical leadership role for AbbVie IT. This position provides leadership to deliver and support key strategies, system functionality and system support for AbbVie’s R&D Development Sciences Organization. This position provides the strategic and tactical IT leadership to achieve business and enterprise operating objectives, including system delivery and support of key business solutions

Responsibilities:
• Accountable for overall IT relationship with the business. Ensure that project delivery and production support activities meet client requirements; serve as the IT escalation point for business customers
• Manage technology-related communications to stakeholders within the business
• Liaison to business customers bridging the connection with IT colleagues to address infrastructure, support or other enterprise-wide IT needs
• Responsible for defining and executing a business-aligned IT strategy and roadmap that will enable a world class R&D Development Sciences organizations in alignment with overall AbbVie IT and R&D IT strategies
• Consult and influence on strategic business goals and objectives melding current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems with a deep understanding of clinical research for competitive advantage
• Drives and define technology objectives and recommend industry-leading solutions to support business needs. Identifies technology solutions to support business growth, productivity and agility
• Facilitate prioritization of technology needs with business partners. Balancing emerging capabilities with current technology stacks based on business value and identify trade-offs
• Actively engage with the business to identify strategic business improvement opportunities
• Responsible for the development and implementation of large scale complex programs including: business case, governance structures and accountability, service strategies, program plans, goals and metrics, processes, change management, vendor management, competitive benchmarking, and communications.
• Value Management-ensure that value creation occurs within scope, schedule and budget allotted the projects within the portfolio.
• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Roles
• Responsible for managing a geographically dispersed team of internal resources, contractors and Vendors to ensure proper alignment and delivery of business / IT objectives.
• Interface with other IT groups to ensure successful alignment and enablement of R&D Development Sciences
• Represents IT on various R&D Development Sciences leadership teams
• Fiscally accountable for the delivery of programs & projects
