NBCUniversal International seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Director, Business Development, Latin America. This leadership position will manage strategic planning and development activities for NBCU International in the Latin America region. Specific projects will include research, analysis, modeling, and recommendations related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and internal business performance improvement. The position offers unique exposure to a wide variety of businesses within the media and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
Work closely with senior management (MD, and SVP TVD and SVP The primary responsibilities of this position include the following:
– Work closely with senior management (MD, and SVP TVD and SVP Networks) to execute current strategy and formulate new growth strategies for NBCU Int’l businesses in LatAm
– Prepare strategic market analyses to identify potential areas of future growth across TV, film and new media. Includes preparation of corporate profiles, strategic market analyses, updates on ongoing market activity and M&A activity.
– Lead in sourcing and developing specific growth investment opportunities (both organic and in conjunction with international corporates)
– Identify strategic partnership or alliance opportunities with major Latin American corporates
– Work alongside Comcast and NBCU International on equity-related transactions, including potential investments in TV production, linear channels and direct-to-consumer platforms (OTT and MVPD)
– Identify and evaluate organic business development opportunities, including preparation of business plans and financial models

Qualifications/Requirements

NBCUniversal is seeking exceptional candidates with substantial experience in strategic planning, management consulting, business strategy development or investment banking, ideally in the entertainment industry. The role requires superior strategic, financial analysis & modelling and relationship skills. The individual must possess the ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties.

The ideal candidate will also possess:
– Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including significant financial modeling experience
– Experience developing and driving the strategic agenda at the Senior Executive level
– Experience working on M&A transactions with a strong commercial mindset in order to identify new business opportunities
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations
– Possess a deep understanding of digital landscape in LatAm, upcoming trends and impact on the LatAm media and social networking markets
– Experience in building scale digital audiences and launching digital services (including, but not limited to, TV and film OTT services)
– Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
– Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in matrix organisations
– Fluency in English and Spanish is essential. Portuguese is desirable.
