The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis serves as the lead analytical resource for EPIX and supports all aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis – including budgeting, forecasting, reporting & analysis. The incumbent will work directly with department teams, including Sales, Programming, Operations, Research and Marketing to ensure financial forecasts and are appropriate, as it relates to a growing company. The incumbent will also work very closely with the CFO to prepare board presentations, long range plans, managerial reports for investor partners, and other ad-hoc analyses to support the business.
Responsibilities include:
Financial Management & Reporting
Manage budget and estimate process, including annual preparation and updates of estimates working with departments and finance team.
Provide budget to actual variance explanations and evaluate industry trends and the competitive landscape.
Consolidate performance for senior management.
Maintain 3 year forecasts in line with partner requests and Board requirements.
Maintain financial planning & reporting databases, including programming, to support reporting.
Provide simplified actual performance vs. licensee forecasts.
Work closely with finance team to ensure actual results and reporting are appropriate, including cash reporting.
Support other ad-hoc projects related to system and operational process improvement.
Contract Management & Analysis
Partner with the Content Distribution and Marketing teams in the management of key affiliate & digital distribution contracts.
Analyze and evaluate distribution deals to ensure EPIX is competitively represented with Distributors.
Monitor and manage MFN status in regard to distribution deals.
Analyze & summarize key deal points for internal and external uses.
Basic Qualifications
8 - 10 years financial management experience
Premium/Cable network experience is highly recommended
MBA Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting Required
Strong overall business/operational management skills
Strong Project Management skills necessary
Strong Microsoft Access, Excel & PowerPoint skills required
