This position is responsible to increase sales of our medical products through the expansion and effective usage of different contract vehicles in the government (e.g. ECAT, FSS, etc). This also includes increasing business with and through government authorized Small Businesses and Construction Companies.
The position is measured based on annual targets related to the responsibilities outlined here and the overall business success in the Federal Government space.
This role specifically requires a self-starting and result driven individual to make a significant contribution to the growth of the Siemens Federal Government business by coming up with ideas on how to find additional avenues to sell our products through additional contract vehicles and small businesses, then implementing the ideas and promoting them. The business development manager will work internally closely with our contracting group, our product manager as well as different sales related functions, and externally with the Federal Government (VA and DoD), Small Businesses and Construction Companies.
Responsibilities
•Identifying additional contract vehicles through which Siemens should sell its medical products.
•Identifying Small Businesses who can sell our products to the Federal Government customer using their contract vehicles.
•Managing, educating and providing sales support to the Small Businesses for our products that they can identify business opportunities build and manage their sales funnel and close deals.
•Identifying Construction Companies working with the Federal Government, positioning our products to/through such Construction Companies to participate and win in outfitting type opportunities
•Ensuring that our product portfolio is extremely well positioned within the rules of the new contract vehicles.
•Promoting sales through the new contract vehicles continuously driving funnel development and market share.
•Maintaining accurate and up-to-date offering on the contract vehicles.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
The successful application should possess the following:
•Bachelor’s Degree
•Knowledge of Federal Contract Vehicles, the Federal Government healthcare market, Federal Construction / Outfitting type business, Small Business Contracting
•Travel approximately 25% of the time
