This Director will lead team defining and driving technology strategy for Cisco Services. Ensure that the right technology priorities are set, in alignment with/support of Services’ business strategy. Work cross functionally to manage the portfolio of technology enablement initiatives, ensuring the right priorities and requirements are established. Work closely with business stakeholders as a trusted advisor to develop optimal technology enablement plans/strategies for new and existing offers.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to strategic discussions, help translate business strategies and ideas into actionable technology strategies and plans. Balance forward-looking/innovation-focused/strategic views with pragmatic perspective and ability to help align and realize the vision.
- Build forward-looking, horizon 2 and 3 opportunities (in addition to translating current opportunities); work with distinguished engineers and business strategy team to identify and articulate medium to long term services opportunities where technology or biz model or both are not yet fully developed.
Work cross-functionally across Cisco Services and Cisco to enable/support strategic technology initiatives.
- Lead team that establishes technology requirements and priorities for Services’ technology investments; ensure ability to connect services strategy to business strategy and ultimately to ROI for Cisco, Partners, and Customers.
- Engage with business strategy to ensure that technology aspects are considered and fully incorporated into our business strategy, including uncovering opportunities where technology enables new business opportunities/strategies, and identifying/articulating technology trends that may be central to shaping our business strategy.
- Due to the nature of this role, the candidate will have an opportunity to interact with the senior most leaders in the business. This Role is for someone with high tolerance for ambiguity and find pragmatic ways to connect strategy with realistic execution objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a seasoned executive with strong business acumen, ability to think strategically, technology acumen, and a proven track record of developing technology strategies to support businesses, leveraging resources and capabilities from across the enterprise. The successful candidate will have proven ability leading product management or similar functions where distilling requirements, making joint trade-offs, and working closely with development teams are required. Through strong, collaborative partnerships and earned credibility, this leader is able to effectively manage and influence executive stakeholders, driving adoption of strategic programs across a Global Services organization and within Cisco’s broader ecosystem.
This leader should be broad thinking with the ability to analyze complexity and make recommendations, provide constructive feedback to and guide senior executives based on understanding of the strategic landscape, leveraging thought leadership to create a business case. This leader and his/her team will work extensively with senior leaders across Services and other Cisco organizations. A pro-active and assertive approach to take on difficult issues and to uncover and address areas of opportunity will be critical.

• Experience working effectively in large, complex and matrixed organizations
