The Director of Product Marketing will own and drive Product Marketing for the entire company. In this role, you will work closely with the Corporate Marketing, Product Management, Demand Generation and Sales teams to develop and execute on a product marketing strategy to evangelize Boomerang Commerce to a wide range of prospects and customers. You will drive product positioning, messaging, sales enablement, create content and analyze data for engagement campaigns. This is a strategic as well as hands-on role. We are a data-driven company and we are looking to you to drive the metrics that show that Product Marketing is key to growing our business.
This position will require the aptitude to become knowledgeable in Boomerang Commerce’s product capabilities, underlying technology, and competitive advantages. This requires the ability to become deeply fluent in the technology and the industry. This position requires someone who can help create product marketing strategies, as well as be deep in the trenches executing.
What you’ll do:
Product Positioning and Messaging:
Develop, iterate and maintain positioning and messaging for our fast growing product portfolio with compelling and highly differentiating value propositions to drive product leadership
Clearly define and articulate the target buyer’s persona: their needs, challenges, goals and buying process
Build and tell the product story ensuring that it fits and supports the company story
Create Go-to-market strategy and plans and develop metrics for measuring success
Sales Enablement:
Create product collateral, including, website content, solution briefs, datasheets, case studies, demos, presentations and battle sheets to support sales efforts and demand generation
Create and provide training for the sales team
Market and Competitive Intelligence:
Perform market analysis to include technology directions, market sizing, and segmentation
Conduct competitive analysis and engage in an on-going dialog with customers and non-customers
Drive product direction based on market analysis and customer feedback
Product Launch:
Define the Go To Market process, facilitate it for each release and product introduction, and evaluate it against success metrics
Own the product-specific launch deliverables required to take a product to market.
Pricing:
Develop robust pricing strategies for each product balancing objectives, impact to market position and ensuring client satisfaction
Other:
Support Demand Generation team with awareness and lead-gen activities
Support product and thought leadership in the market
Partner with Product Management, Demand Generation, and Sales Enablement teams throughout all activities to align focus, content, strategy, vision, and direction for products Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded, proven performer with equivalent experience at other enterprise software companies.
What you need to succeed:
A minimum of 5+ years of product marketing experience including hands-on responsibilities with product messaging, content creation, and sales enablement
Ability to weave together product capabilities, market trends, and customer needs into compelling stories
Ability to distill complex information into guiding principles and simple messages
Demonstrated product collateral development skills (writing, presentations, web copy, video storyboards, etc)
Demonstrated ability to own product demonstrations and clearly articulate value propositions
Demonstrated sales enablement and training experience
Understanding (or desire to learn) data analytics and data science fundamentals
Self-motivation to initiate and complete projects independently with available start-up resources
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply
The ability to adapt to changing environments quickly
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Working cross-functionally and influencing across boundaries
Experience as primary owner of multiple B2B product launches
Software-as-a-service product marketing background
BA required, MBA or equivalent experience preferred
