Develop individual and group instruction, music and vocal, in all aspects of Corps programing. Lead all music and arts programs at the Corps, as well as on Sunday during worship and at special events.
Develop and implement music curriculum for the Afterschool Program, including rehearsals and recitals. Develop ongoing training for all music staff and volunteers. Recruit and supervise staff and volunteers, as well as, children for programs and Divisional and Territorial music camps. Maintain music library and equipment inventory obtaining repairs and new equipment as needed and approved. Responsible for maintaining music office procedures, correspondence and files while attending required staff meetings and serving on committees as requested. Conduct must always be in a manner that reflects credit on the Salvation Army and encourages others to do the same. Represents The Salvation Army to funding agencies, media, general public and local community. Participate in Divisional music and arts programs providing supervision and transportation to Divisional & Territorial events as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music (music education preferred) proven experience in Corps music and arts program leadership, willingness to travel. Willingness to teach children and adults. Must be detailed oriented, flexible and possess the ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills. Good Computer Skills. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be a Solider of The Salvation Army and willing to become a member of the Philadelphia Citadel Corps. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
