In the Education product marketing team, we need to be great at three things.
1) Understanding the needs of students, teachers, parents, administrators and staff
2) Partnering with engineering to create unbelievable product experiences from those insights
3) Finding simple, powerful and creative ways to communicate these new product experiences
This product marketing role will focus specifically on our portfolio of apps used in education. You will work with product marketing and engineering teams throughout the company to craft a comprehensive marketing strategy and GTM plan for these apps. Experience working with software engineering teams to create great experiences is crucial. You will be accountable for setting key business objectives and determining our marketing strategy for the education app portfolio. You must be able to think strategically about the education opportunities, competitive landscape and match strategies and tactics to achieve business success and help our field win against competitors. Your success will depend on your ability to translate the benefits of technology into value for the schools, students and teachers in a simple and concise narrative.
As such, we are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills, a history of strong collaboration with marketing communications, subsidiaries, and engineering teams, and a high drive for results. We are looking for people with end to end marketing experience, who feel as comfortable with the fuzzy front end of product development, as they do partnering with marketing communications and PR on the launch campaign. This individual must be a self-starter, highly-detailed and comfortable with ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Obsess about the needs of our end-users; students, teachers, parents, administrators and staff
• Simplify the way we explain benefits of new technology through inspiring and exciting storytelling
• Develop our go-to-market plans and partner with Marcom, PR and the field to bring them to life
• Partner with cross-company engineering, design and research teams to create amazing products
• Competitive marketing, including driving compete strategies and programs based on competitor insight
Qualifications
• 5+ years of product marketing experience, or related
• Excellent skill in customer understanding, product development, and storytelling
• Dynamic, articulate, confident, self-starter with ability to develop executable GTM plans
• Proven strategic and creative thinker that independently generates and executes on ideas.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required, MBA and/or M.Ed preferred. Teaching experience is invaluable.
