The Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives team is looking for a Director of Government Affairs that will drive policy and political strategy on a range of issues, and will build and manage a team of professionals.
Job Responsibilities •Works closely with cross-functional project team to identify priorities, develop policy and political strategies, and implement a global plan to advance the company’s agenda. •Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. •Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. •Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. •Recruits, hires, and manages a team of professionals to support the project. •Designs plans for government outreach by providing analysis of emerging or existing legislative public policy issues impacting the project. Gathers intelligence and assists in the preparation of position papers, policy briefings, and presentations. •Coordinates actions through strategic partners in government, industry, academia, consulting firms, and others to communicate corporate positions and achieve objectives. •Projects may include implementation of public policy activities, government and industry lobbying efforts, advocating government funding initiatives and identifying new opportunities favorably advancing the company’s influence with the government.
Education
•Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred •Typically requires a minimum of 15 years experience in government, government relations, or other advocacy roles with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years with an advanced degree.
