The Director of IT Desktop Engineering & Operations will report to the VP, IT and will be responsible for all aspects of the IT Operations and Desktop environment at the Saban companies. This will work closely with the Sr. Director of Infrastructure and the Sr. Director of Application support to provide best of class IT service to the organization.
This position requires a robust technical background paired with the ability to lead and mentor a team. In general, responsibilities will include innovative problem solving techniques, including the development of unique solutions to meet customer requirements. This role will also provide solid guidance to staff with less experience and knowledge. Travel to off-site locations and support outside normal business hours is required.
Responsibilities
•Oversee the planning, control and management of IT Operations
•Develop and oversee best practice procedures and policies related to IT Operations and Desktop Engineering
•Develop strategic relationships with other team members and leaders across IT and business units
•Provide IT leadership and successfully manage a team of IT professionals
•Establish priorities, set goals and monitor progress of IT Operations efforts
•Serve as a liaison between nontechnical business units and IT, communicating technical information and plans
•Develop and maintain hardware and software standards as well as standard images and deployment methods
•Develop appropriate KPI’s to measure and improve IT operations and performance
•Keep VP, IT informed of all critical strategic and tactical IT operations issues
•Establish a cross training policy within the team to ensure bench strength
•Contribute to yearly budgeting and forecasting process and look for efficiencies
•Independently work with vendor partners on various projects
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree or combination of relevant education and experience
•Minimum 10 years of experience managing an IT Operations and Desktop Engineering team covering multiple national and international sites
•Experience in IT operations strategy, planning and implementation including design, assessment and continuous improvement methodologies
•Ability to collaborate effectively with business partners in order to define, articulate and lead IT solutions to support the business needs
•Relevant experience effectively integrating third-party managed services providers with internally delivered capabilities
•Ability to plan and execute projects within time and budget constraints
•Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to create a teamwork environment consistent with company culture and values.
•Process and deadline oriented with high attention to detail
•Relevant experience in the application of ITIL to the delivery of IT services
•Ability to maintain a 24/7 uptime environment
•Experience and ability to plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans
•Strong understanding of Information Security best practices
