The unit focuses on media relations and communication services, digital and new media, coordination of marketing communication activities, and brand management. The team will drive the articulation of the Oakley message, voice and brand forward with innovative and impactful approaches to brand communications.
The Director of Brand and Communication is responsible for facilitating the delivery of Oakley’s international’s strategic brand communications goals through:
Planning and implementing Oakley’s brand and communication strategies, initiatives and key communication tactics across key Global marketing efforts and in support of regional specific efforts.
Directing the efforts of brand communications team in the development of clear, compelling PR and Advertising strategies and plans on an annual and seasonal basis.
Oversees the Global Trade Marketing & Training.
Will work as a leader and orchestrator of coordinating at strategic and tactical levels with the other functions within Oakley’s Brand Communications department in the development of Integrated Marketing Plans and execution.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Establish and articulate brand position and effectively apply this across categories
Build, develop, and lead team to drive brand communications strategies and plans.
Understanding our various consumer targets drive effective brand communications plans and strategies to reach and drive awareness and perception goals.
Collaborate with product marketing teams for product line positioning, in category architectures and long term business growth strategies to ensure that communications deliver against brand/category strategy needs and requirements.
Ensure regional brand communications plans are aligned with global efforts to drive single brand articulation yet allowing for regional application.
Define and collect competitor attributes and relevance to ensuring we separate and develop a distinct POVs by category, channel and consumer.
Develop annual Brand Communications Plans including PR and Advertising plans.
Through leadership and collaboration with Brand Communication and Product Marketing teams, develop the GTM deliverable of Global Integrated Marketing Plans.
Drive product marketing teams in the articulation of seasonal product stories that accrue to the brand and can be effectively executed through marketing communications.
Lead the development of sequenced PR and Brand Communications activities both globally and regionally to ensure proper orchestration to drive brand and business results.
Develop annual marketing communication strategies, plans and budgets – determine priorities and how to effectively deliver marketing concepts to the target consumer and how to roll out the campaign internationally
Execute objectives and goals outlined in marketing strategy
Drive teams in the delivery of campaign to consumers, customers, and subsidiaries
Communicate marketing communications strategies and vision Regional Brand Managers and Marketing Directors
Manage and monitor execution the performance of Brand Communication efforts to ensure optimization and ROI.
Drive Brand storytelling through various mediums that deliver the unique, disruptive and brave design and innovation of the Oakley brand.
Drive Traffic to Oakley Retail stores and websites
Through deep consumer and brand understanding become filter to taking product features into meaningful, authentic and intuitive benefit storytelling.
Working with product and sales driving focus on stories that will define the brand and build momentum across the entire category while creating the most efficient investment model.

THE QUALIFIERS
Bachelors in Marketing or related field.
10 + years of relevant work experience in brand management, product management or Marketing communications.
Strong knowledge of marketing and media relations
Experience in driving optimal marketing spending to drive sales and elevate the brand
Ability to lead a high-performing team in a collaborative and results-oriented manner.
Experience in the management of complex, global, multi-stakeholder projects and achieving goals on time and to budget
Excellent communication skills
Experience identifying and managing outside vendors.
An eye for design, attention to detail and follow-through.
