Job Description:
The Strategic Operations and Impact Assessment team is responsible for the day-to-day inner workings of the FIU and for ensuring alignment across all FIU teams to proactively identify and remediate issues that impact suspicious activity monitoring, investigations, and reporting. This includes oversight of formal and internal management reporting, metrics, identification of key risk indicators, project management for the FIU’s core functions, oversight and coordination of FIU-related technology projects, oversight and coordination of Operational Risk Events, and the development and execution of alert inventory management strategies.
Job Responsibilities
As part of the Strategic Operations & Impact Assessment team, the director will
Oversee management of projects related to the FIU’s core teams, including the Monitoring Rule Development Team, Analytics, Special Investigations and Investigations, SAR Quality, Program Oversight and Sanctions
Oversee the management of projects related to Strategic Operations and Impact Assessment, as well as technology projects targeted at enhancing the FIU case management system, investigative process and reporting capabilities.
Maintain oversight of Operational Risk Events, and work to enhance progress reports used to measure health statuses of the wide range of efforts pertaining to the above teams

Qualifications
6+ years of experience in project management, compliance (BSA-AML preferred), the broader financial services industry, or legal
Ability to handle multiple tasks, take on new responsibilities and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment
Strong people leadership skills with ability to motivate, engage, manage and develop a high performing team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with proven ability to translate findings into impactful communications and presentations to senior leadership
Exceptional attention to detail
Expert-level skill in Excel preferred
