Job Description:
Right now, we are seeking a Director of Finance, Corporate Initiatives based at Western Union’s global headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing corporate initiatives related to financial discipline and key strategic investments. You will partner with the Business, Technology, Operations and Finance teams monitor expense savings initiatives and operational / financial delivery of key investments throughout the company.
Further, you will explore tool and process improvements to improve the accuracy / automation of project level reporting relative to approved business cases.
In addition, you will:
Develop new and innovative analytic approaches to evaluating expenses and investments, increase transparency and drive fact-based decisions
Facilitate routine business case and expense discussions with CFO and business leaders
Develop policy, process and project management documentation and training
Build relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance, Technology, HR, Business Teams and project owners
Identify, evaluate, and track savings related to corporate project initiatives; mitigate risks
Report project status, issues, and risks to key stakeholders. Support SVP of Finance in various other corporate initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related degree
10+ years of professional experience
6+ years of analytics experience, including project costing, investment analysis, planning, etc.
2+ years of project management experience, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing out projects
Strong and demonstrable understanding of Finance and Accounting principles
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional project teams effectively with successful financial outcomes
Understanding of Financial Systems (ideally Hyperion) and Database applications/tools such as OBIEE, Tableau, Sharepoint, etc.
Experience managing diverse stakeholder populations
Adept at working across the organization and influencing others at all levels
Ability to develop strong relationships with internal customers
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills for both business and technical stakeholders
Strong presentation capabilities to all levels of audience, including senior management
Advanced skills in MS Powerpoint
Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend sound conclusions and implementation strategies
Team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
Advance degreed (MBA, MS, etc.), preferred
Experience working in a consulting environment supporting external clients, preferred
