Job Description:
We are seeking Director of Engineering for our Partner team with a passion to work in a complex computing environment to join our Network Security development team. The candidate will work as part of a team that develops Network security products into virtualized and cloud environments. The candidate will be responsible for architecture and implementation of certification suites to validate new partner solutions in networking and security space. The candidate will interact directly with R&D teams to ensure that partners are able to deliver high quality networking solutions in line with the NSX products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Certification solution architecture and design for partner Networking and security products for NSX.
- Test development, execution, automation and providing debug support.
- Coordinate with VMware and partner development and testing teams for solution certification.
- Analyze test results and debug issues with the partner products.
- Participate in programs to deploy pre-GA products, and provide direct feedback to product management and engineering.
- Review entire environment and execute initiatives to streamline certification process for multiple releases.
- Document architectures, procedures, and processes for use by partners.
- Apply innovative testing to further improve quality of partner products
- Communicate technical dependencies and concerns/issues of implementations
- Cross functional engagement with various VMware’s and partner’s engineering teams and program teams.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience as an Engineer who has successfully worked in the area of Test development or product certification.
- Expertise and passion for working with kernel-level and user level code to deliver well integrated solutions.
- Strong Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
- Must be a self starter, and capable of owning and driving ideas and innovation into products.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills – must be able to interact well with developers internally as well as at partner companies.
- Prior hands on experience with VMware’s vSphere Product line, especially in the areas of Networking, is highly desirable.
- A strong background in computer hardware and Intel x86 architecture
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Good understanding of IO subsystems and virtualization
- Experience in dynamic working environments
- Past experience working with Partners or OEMs a strong plus
- Masters Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engg required.
A Bachelors degree will be considered for applicants with relevant experience.
