Job Description:
We are looking for a Sr Manager or Director of Engineering with a strong technical and entrepreneurial background to manage the engineering team for Push Marketing. Groupon Push Marketing team is responsible for all Groupon’s email, mobile notification and SMS channels which contribute a significant portion of revenue to Groupon. The ideal candidate should have a track record of managing engineering team and driving successful product delivery. This role must be able to build high quality engineering team and show technical leadership within the team.
Drive large project to deliver on time
Team building and management
Provide technical guidance to the team
Clear communication and coordination with PM, design and other development teams.
Influence the long-term product roadmap.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years’ related experience
Management experience of 15+ engineers
Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
Strong history of delivering successful projects
Broad technology awareness, able to make correct technology choices.
Preferred technology stack: Java, Scala, Dropwizard, Play, Hadoop, Spark, Storm, Redis, Cassandra, Mongodb, PostgreSQL.
Strong team management skills, good at multi-tasking and staying organized
