Job Description:
We are searching for a leader to head our company’s product strategy. Reporting to the VP of Product, the Director of Product Management, Personalization and Digital Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing Hulu’s end to end product strategy and roadmap, ideation, prioritization and developing processes for content and metadata. The role and product management team reporting to the role is responsible for driving engagement and viewer satisfaction through connecting the viewer to the content they will love (personalization and discovery), search, and content and metadata ingestion.
The ideal Hulugan for this role should: build a talent pipeline, mentor Product Managers at all levels, foster innovation, creating a healthy environment for all team members to grow with high humility and integrity. Influence and team building skills are essential for the success for this position as well as being a customer focused product leader with a high entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to operate nimbly with a high-risk tolerance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Create and manage a Hulu’s multi-year product roadmap for Personalization and Digital Supply Chain
Align all content discovery and recommendations efforts across marketing, distribution, technology, product, and finance
Create a product strategy that gracefully combines the power of data science and human editorial to always get viewers into the content they love (even if they don’t know they will love it yet)
Foster and sponsor innovation in content recommendation engines and experiences
Drive innovation and operational efficiency of content and metadata ingestion and catalog services to ensure the highest quality experience for the viewer
Collaborate with the SVP of Experience, VP of Product and other product leaders to make Hulu a must have entertainment experience
Set and align content experience goals (specifically recommendations, browse, and search) within the product team and with other teams at Hulu and make quick and clear trade-off decisions when needed
Build a sustainable talent pipeline and grow healthy, creative, empowered and autonomous product teams
Partner internally and externally to drive innovation in the Hulu experience championing product innovation

WHAT TO BRING
Technical degree or equivalent experience
Proven experience and success in driving in personalization and recommendations for TV, movies, or music
Deep expertise in video and metadata ingestion and playback (encode/decode, format in-channel and of-channel metadata, catalog services)
Deep passion for TV and Movies and the experience people have with each
Clear track record of creating and delivering on multi-year product strategy and roadmaps that resulted in recognized innovation in the industry
5+ years of managing product teams with a proven track record of developing talent
Experience working in both highly agile environments as well as large product development efforts
8+ years preferred of product management experience overseeing the design, development and launch of successful consumer internet products and/or applications on devices, with at least 3 years of multi-level management (manager of managers)
Solid understanding of customer needs, business goals and competitive pressures and the ability to convert those into product requirements and priorities and broadly communicate them to the organization
Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders
Excellent product judgment: Ability to make sound judgments based on tradeoffs of different solutions, complex problems, various stakeholders, and many constraints
Project management skills: Ability to plan, set expectations, make and meet commitments
Superb analytical skills: Ability to solve complex problems through analytics and data-driven approach to decision making
Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business priorities, drive detailed trade-offs over the product lifecycle, manage conflict, and articulate the rationale behind decisions
Strong leadership skills: Ability to balance and productively resolve contradictory demands and timelines in order to deliver against the company vision and goals
