Job Description:
Within Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT) Architecture we are seeking a skilled Director, Web Application Architect to play a hands-on role and work with our application development teams. This individual's primary responsibility will be to provide technical direction and oversight for multiple applications, while enabling business architecture practices working with the business. This role will deliver the architecture for developing a secure presentation layer and services using HTML, JavaScript, .NET and Java technology stacks.

FI Architecture provides strategic technology direction and architecture vision for Fidelity's Institutional businesses. The FI Architecture group is a comprehensive central architecture practice, leading IT strategy and architecture transformation, IT oversight and governance, promoting collaboration and open communication to facilitate better decision making at all levels.

Primary Responsibilities

Partner with application development teams to define, design, and implement the solution architecture, with the responsibility of cross project technology and architecture vision.
Work with project teams, vendors, support organizations, other architects, systems specialists and other technical resources.
Guide development and implementation of Presentation tier using Java and .Net technologies.
Influence development of Web Services using Java/spring frameworks.
Guide design and development of security best practices to all layers of the application stack.
Perform design review and code review for the assigned applications.
Be responsible for technical presentations demonstrating a good understanding of application, data, infrastructure, architecture expertise and application systems design.
Establish methodologies for software development life cycle.
Provide guidance and lead resolution of technical issues as they arise.

Desired Skills and Experience
Experience and Skills

5+ years of experience as an application architect.
8-10+ years of software development experience including implementation of enterprise solutions in multiple technology platforms and languages (Java, .NET, HTML, JavaScript, Oracle, Windows and Linux).
Knowledge of Windows/Unix /Linux environments is required.
Extensive technology knowledge and recognized expertise in several areas. Our current environment includes J2EE, .NET, WebSphere, Tomcat, Oracle, and thin-client technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, etc.
Experience with Agile, Continuous Build & Integration, Test-Driven-Development - Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, GIT, Confluence, JIRA, JUnit, Mock frameworks and SonarCube.
Experience with application security implementations and best practices. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CEH preferred.
Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cryptography, Access Controls and Security Protocols. E.g. Multi-factor, Biometric, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, XACML etc.
