Job Description:
The Director of Operations (we will call you theDirector ofSaaS Ops & Delivery) will beresponsible for developing, managing, and evolving our SaaS-based cloud services functions to ensure technical and operational success. This role develops processes to manage operations, assists in the development of software deployment processes, and manages operations staff. Although this is a management role, it is very much a hands-on position. This role will be responsible for maintaining and improving CA Agile Central'sSaaS-based infrastructureand will oversee a team that works closely and collaboratively with several product engineering teams.
-Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Systems Administrators, Infrastructure Engineers, DevOps Engineers and DBAs that support Rallys cloud applications and services
-Direct all activities associated with infrastructure performance and reliability including capacity planning, trends, and application performance
-Monitor and model system stability, performance, and throughput
-Oversee the 24/7 operations of Rallys applications
-Design infrastructure for high availability and worldwide performance
-Build strategic and tactical plans for continued improvement of system availability and worldwide performance
-Automate the deployment and maintenance of cloud platform technologies with an emphasis on growth, time to market, and flexible deployment infrastructure
-Lead, coach, and mentor information security personnel to refine and implement core enterprise security strategy
About You
-5+ years of technology leadership experience
-3+ years architecting cloud-based infrastructure
-10+ years of relevant technical experience working in large scale production operations preferably with internet based web delivery companies (SaaS or other models)
-Experience working within an agile development environment
-Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment
-Experience setting strategy and allocating resources in support of Cloud based software solutions
-Experience with using capacity planning and application growth inputs to help model budgets and staffing requirements
-Demonstrated track record of developing stable, reliable environments that ensure performance and uptime
-Expert understanding of networking/distributed computing environments
-Experience with large-scale cloud infrastructures, both private colocation and public cloud hosting models
-Comfortable deploying and supporting the following services & protocols (DNS, SMTP, HTTP, SSH, SSL, DHCP, UDP, TCP)
-Experience deploying and configuring monitoring and trending software and services (Ganglia/Gmetad, Cacti, Nagios, etc)
-Familiarity with administrative languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, shell)
-Practical experience deploying and maintaining configuration management systems (Puppet, Chef, etc) on top of bare metal and virtualized deployment environments (EC2, OpenStack, lxc, Docker)
-An understanding of relational and NoSQL database systems (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra)
-Ability to effectively prioritize your team's workload and shift attention with changing priorities.
-Operations experience in a customer production environment
-Familiarity with information security best practices
-Work with distributed operations team members to ensure consistent corporate operations standards
