Job Description:
New York University (NYU) is excited to announce an opening for the Director of Community Standards and Compliance Office within the Division of Student Affairs. The position provides oversight for the following areas within the institution: Residential judiciary system (2500+ cases annually); student conduct support for our twelve study away locations; lead one of the three primary units involved in the administration of the University's response to allegations of sexual assault/harassment;

oversee the operation of the University Judicial Board; serve as Compliance Officer for the Division of Student Affairs and as a designee of the Deputy President of the University in Student Grievance Procedure matters; serve as a member of the University Compliance Officers working group; oversee all student conduct data; and create/review enhancements/updates for the student code of behavior at the institution. This is a key leadership position which reports to the Senior Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and provides guidance to the leadership on all student conduct matters.
Desired Skills and Experience
A JD or Doctorate in Education, Counseling, or Higher Education and a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs administration or related higher education administration, or equivalent combination. Experience in counseling referrals. Strong understanding of current and pending Federal, state and local legislative matters as they affect Student Affairs. Particularly necessary is knowledge of regulatory law associated with sexual misconduct and relationship violence. Awareness of relationship of Federal, state and local regulatory laws as they pertain to the management of student conduct and grievance matters. Exceptional writing, communication skills, mediation counseling, and investigatory skills are essential.
