Job Description:
Director - Virtualization Engineer is responsible for management of large scale global enterprise engineering of application and desktop / workplace technologies and delivery of such technologies via virtualization solution. He / She also provides technical leadership and interaction with engineering teams, vendors, operations staff, EUC peers, business users and application developers as needed. Director - Virtualization Engineer will also be responsible for managing virtualization engineering roadmap, application delivery strategy ownership and provide direction and leadership on various projects and architecture design decisions.
Responsibilities:

Ownership of end user computing / workplace technology solutions design, engineering, and optimization as well as contribute to the overall direction of the technology responsible for software, hardware, and resource decisions.
Participate in planning for enterprise virtual application and desktop systems management software and architecture.
Collaborate with internal Engineering teams, vendors and external IT groups to design and implement Global solutions to meet both global and local in country business requirements based on Domestic Reference Architecture.
Participate and drive the evaluation and recommendation of new products. Will lead internal and external resources to pilot and develop software and create business cases for new, innovative technologies which create efficiencies, drives down costs, and provides stability for the Enterprise.
Lead resources and develop staff which will play key roles in the identification and resolution of complex end user computing problems (Tier 3 support) utilizing structured trouble-shooting tools and techniques.
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Experience:

8 + years in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or finanical industry
8+ years of experience working in a Virtualization Engineering and Architecture capacity (managing large scale environments, installation, configuration and troubleshooting) with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 or mix of the three
8+years of experience working in an administrative capacity in support of enterprise scale (> 5,000 users) office automation networks
5+ years of experience working in a management capacity within the with end-user computing space, specifically with virtualization technologies, including but not limited to Citrix XenApp and/or XenDesktop and MS App-V
Preferred Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information Systems or related field preferred, or 8 years of equivalent work experience.
Microsoft Certified IT Professional. Citrix Certified Advanced XenApp and XenDesktop Administrator
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and manage resources as well as present business cases and articulate strategy to Sr. Leadership and Customers
Strong knowledge of network hardware and software, infrastructure and design, topologies and protocols. Advanced to Expert knowledge of Virtualization and dependent technologies to provide strategic direction beyond immediately supported suite of infrastructure and software.
Strong leadership, problem solving analytical and communication skills.
