Job Description:
You are an experienced visual storyteller and tastemaker, well versed in the delicate nuances that result in delightful User Experience. You’ve set the standard for design projects in multiple categories with your world-class design chops, command of motion principals, masterful typographic skills, robust organizational skills, and acute attention to detail. You are a hands-on designer with strong vision and a passion for guiding customers through the often-overwhelming reality of adopting new technology into the home. Collaboration is in your DNA, but you aren’t afraid prioritize, make decisions and communicate with authority. You thrive in an atmosphere of rapid development.

Responsibilities
Develop and champion a holistic point of view for all OOBE (Out of Box Experience) components, including Set–Up, Quick Start Guide, and First Run Video
Create mood boards, style sheets, and storyboards to clearly direct teams of Interaction, Visual, and Motion Designers
Collaborate with multiple product teams to ensure key product values and features are introduced to the customer at the right time and with an element of soul
Present design solutions and gracefully defend your design decisions to executive management
Scope design initiatives and manage/prioritize work items
Understand and respond to performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and steer the direction of future creative designs
Communicate clearly with both internal and external customers
Inspire and mentor others on the Visual Design team
An exceptional online portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and creative problem solving
Can create a common design language across a family of products
Minimum of 7 years of experience in application / web design / marketing
Minimum of 2 years of experience in team leadership and mentoring junior designers
Experience managing multiple projects and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task
Ability to work across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work
Ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback from multiple teams/owners
Proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, After Effects, and InDesign
Excellent communication skills and great attitude, enjoy engaging with multiple stakeholders to understand and solve challenges
Compelling storyteller who can educate as well as entertain
Experience managing visual designers
Sense of humor
