Director - Distribution - Super King Markets - Los Angeles


Job description
Summary
Day to day this person will be leading a team of 40+ production employees at two locations to ensure customer orders (stores) are prepared accurately and efficiently to meet timely dispatch schedules.
Our objective is to ensure that shipping operations fulfills store orders at a high-volume pace by selecting product from inventory utilizing RF technology for picking, replenishing inventory and dispatching the fleet so the stores receive what they need timely and accurately.
Responsibilities include:
Implement and maintain a fully functional supply chain management system
Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, thoroughness and condition of shipments
Ensures outgoing shipping is prepared to meet timely dispatch schedules

Directs movement of shipments from dock (s) to trucks (s) or temporary staging areas
Compiles records of unfilled orders for subsequent submission to inventory control
Must understand production and be KPI driven
Proactive in slotting and/or re-slotting of SKUs
Proven knowledge of replenishment and ability to manage it in an efficient manner
Proven ability and willingness to take a hands-on approach as necessary, to include safe operation of all in-house equipment
Ensure Safety and OSHA rules are followed
Maintain inventory integrity by employing “world-class” warehousing and inventory control practices
Support the implementation of a proactive business strategy, including setting and or implementing productivity goals for each of the distribution facilities
Coordinate and oversee all inventory procedures and systems including WMS, inventory receiving, shipping , transfers and physical count comparisons
Serve as the on-site inventory control expert
Participates in annual budget process covering all distribution operating expenses

Job requirements:
Minimum of ten years of experience in managing warehouse operations
Demonstrated working knowledge of warehouse technology, RF and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point
Experience with Profit & Loss metrics
Ability to understand the relationships between ERP and WMS systems
