Finance Director EM Debt Latam Deutsche Bank New York

As Director, you will lead the Emerging Markets Debt LatAm Finance Director team based in New York. Broadly, the team is responsible for ensuring the material accuracy of the business’s financial, management, and regulatory reporting, ensuring a robust control environment, and partnering with the business and other infrastructure functions to define and execute business strategy, evaluate and opine on structured/complex transactions and optimize financial results.

Key responsibilities:

Finance Director to support and advise respective Infrastructure Executive Committee (ExCo) members, including:

Operate as the primary contact and partner to the Front Office Head of EM Latin America and senior desk heads
Ensure the material accuracy of all business related financial, management, and regulatory reporting (daily P&L, risk weighted assets and other capital balances, balance sheet, etc)
Partner with other Finance and Infrastructure functions to ensure a well controlled operating environment
Strong knowledge of fixed income products including structured transactions
Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting, Basel capital rules, financial controls
Work closely with the Front Office to evaluate business performance, identify areas for resource optimisation and providing recommendations to management
Financial performance measurement & tracking and you will be responsible for performance review of plan/actuals/forecasts
Support for the implementation of strategic and regulatory initiatives
Briefing senior stakeholders and responding to adhoc queries
Work closely with the Global EM Finance Director
Manage a team of three including learning & development


You will have:

MBA in Finance, CPA, or CFA are positives
10 years of relevant work experience (Emerging Markets experience would be beneficial)
Excellent academic background and strong knowledge of internal Finance process and systems (ideally within Deutsche Bank)
Strong technical and commercial knowledge with the ability to deconstruct complex transactions and their associated risks, be that financial or otherwise
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Excel, Word, Power-point
A broad knowledge of key current issues facing the Bank, including understanding developments on regulatory and accounting drivers
High attention to detail, and analytical focus
The ability to build strong relationships and have good communication skills
Strong presentation skills

Able to explain complex issues to management at all levels
Able to prioritise book of work across multiple stakeholders
A strategic thinker with sound knowledge of Deutsche Bank’s strategic priorities and how they impact your area of coverage
