Director Scaling Operations Amazon Seattle

Job Description:
Our team is seeking a Director of Operations to lead our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) support organization, which includes identification and implementation of mechanisms to safely launch, learn, operate, measure, and continually improve and scale our service. The candidate will need the strategic ability to develop and execute a vision for the future, while managing and optimizing ongoing operations. This person will need to work closely with business managers, manufacturing, safety and security, software development, product managers, and supply chain.
You will have a proven track record of being a highly adaptable generalist, owning and delivering world-class experiences. You will own ongoing analysis and deep dives regarding the core manufacturing operations, including the mechanisms to enable consistently flawless execution. You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute operations strategies for manufacturing, including tools and processes.
Develop all processes for the manufacturing team. Partner with Learning Team to develop and deliver corresponding training content.
Own change management and process improvement programs.
Develop and own operational excellence and ops WBR metrics and process to drive improvement.
Own development and management of launch program management and new product development process.
Main operations POC to the business.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required.
· Proven ability to manipulate and analyze complex data sets.
· Strong data analysis, problem solving and project management skills.
· Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean Six Sigma techniques
· Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Access, and/or SQL
· Demonstrated customer focus and experience releasing products and programs to market.
· History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.

Preferred Qualifications

· MBA or Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
· 7+ years’ experience managing operations in a retail, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
· Must possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done.
· The right candidate thrives in a high energy, highly ambiguous environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.
· High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
