Job Description:
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited is currently seeking a Director to lead the Project Management Organization (PMO) within the Global Technology Services organization. The Director will be responsible for timely and successful delivery of GTS's portfolio of projects, including portfolio management, project management, change leadership and adoption. The Director collaborates with the leaders across the Global Technology Services organization and Deloitte member Firms at the highest levels, to develop/maintain strategic plans and operational processes.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and innovative individual, capable of effectively communicating with internal IT leaders, functional stakeholders at that Partner/Director levels, and member firm CIO’s. In addition to day-to-day management of people and projects, the Director will be expected to think strategically and participate in long-term planning efforts to improve delivery models, monitoring tools, support metrics and overall product(s) quality. Role Specific Responsibilities
This senior person oversees the strategy and operations of the technology Project and program management organization (PMO).
The successful candidate will be accountable for the successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery of the portfolio of IT projects and therefore is involved in the full span of project activities from the development of project budgets to the selection of PPM tools to risk management and assessment thru successful adoption within member firms.
The Director provides the professional and strategic leadership for the organization and coordinates both internal and external resources to maximize project and program success.
Further, the Director will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement and optimization of the business process across GTS.

Key Areas Of Responsibility For This Role Include
Supporting IT planning and strategy. The Director brings a comprehensive and forward-looking view of IT projects to the annual planning process. The Director is also instrumental in supporting the high-level IT strategy and oversees the full portfolio of technology projects and initiatives to ensure they align with that strategy and support IT's long-term goals. The Director must drive innovative processes, to keep pace with the emerging technology landscape.
Driving IT project governance. The Director provides oversight for IT projects to ensure they are on track and meet required goals. The director is a partner for IT and function leadership during the project selection process. S/He is responsible for ensuring that a strong project governance framework is maintained and adopted.
Leading high performing project management professionals. The Director leads a team of 50 professionals spread across the US, Canada, UK and India. S/He is responsible for developing, mentoring, supporting and accelerating Talent development in the PMO area.
Maintaining world class project management practices and methodologies. The Director oversees the development and maintenance of standards and methodologies for project management. The Director ensures projects are budgeted, defined, tracked, and executed in a consistent and effective way that will maximize project success and drive business growth.
Monitoring and reporting performance. As the owner of the project portfolio, the Director is tasked with reporting status, performance, and financial health to IT and business leadership based on whatever criteria or metrics have been established. Reporting responsibilities may also include risk assessment and risk management efforts.
Continuous improvement. The Director owns the Continuous Improvement and process optimization processes of GTS to work with the technical delivery teams to regularly identify the various aspects that need improvement, and then to drive a process of relentless improvement in GTS. This would include knowledge of CMMI. ISO and other standard CI approaches.
Developing high performing talent. The Director is responsible for recruiting, retaining, and mentoring a high performing team of professionals responsible for multi-million dollar project delivery. This includes a focus on diversity, inclusion and teamwork, and inspirational leadership in order to ensure delivery across diverse teams in many locations.


15+ years of IT experience including experience in software delivery and infrastructure platforms.
Significant experience with standard project management tools, methodologies and frameworks.
Demonstrated capability to manage projects/programs with multi-million dollar budgets leading these projects to successful implementation and life cycle.
Demonstrated large scale transformation and organizational design experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to provide clear messages to all levels.
Strong leadership competencies for hiring, managing, coaching and developing staff.
Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain strategic working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills using critical and innovative thinking.
Broad experience working with, negotiating with and managing performance of external vendors.
Recognized industry leader in strategic project/program management
Demonstrated experience dealing with off-shore teams, with a particular emphasis on working in India.
Demonstrated experience with global or multinational projects. At least five years of experience developing and leading virtual teams preferred.
Strong understanding of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited operating environment OR successful experience working in a comparable global professional services organization required.
Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and delivering effective business solutions and strategies, frameworks or tools for use at a division or organization-wide level.
Extensive background in program management, portfolio management or product enablement
Extensive experience in software development processes and/or technical delivery
Extensive experience in continuous improvement.
Thorough knowledge of PMBoK, CMMI, ITIL and related ISO standards of project management
Active involvement in professional societies or industry organizations including experience speaking at conferences, delivering workshops or publishing eminence-building articles
MS, MBA or other advance degree in IT, business or related field.
