Director Planning Analysis Prudential Newark

Job Description:
The Director of the Asset Management Financial Planning and Analysis team will be responsible for supporting the Asset Management segment a.k.a. “PGIM” (includes the following businesses: Prudential Fixed Income, Prudential Capital Group, Jennison Associates, QMa, Prudential Mortgage Capital Corporation, Prudential Real Estate Investors Prudential Investments and Prudential International Investments) within Prudential.
The Financial Planning and Analysis team provides financial insights, consulting and strategic support to senior management (VP of Finance of Asset Management, CFO of Asset Management and the US businesses, and the business specific Treasury team) to drive optimal business decision making. In addition to financial reporting and forecasting, the role includes preparing presentations and financial models to answer strategic questions posed by the senior management. The position allows for significant interaction across all of the above mentioned asset management businesses and will enable a successful candidate to gain a well rounded understanding of the asset management business in addition to continuing to develop accounting, reporting, managerial and leadership skills.



Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Leading the development of insightful analytics and financial metrics to support Financial and Management Reporting, including the quarterly forecast, monthly flash or estimated earnings, and quarterly earnings call analyses as necessary for all Corporate submissions and Senior Management meetings; includes providing detailed analysis around business drivers
Consolidate, analyze and report the AUM forecast, including partnering with the business units to provide more insightful analytics around AUM drivers
Investigate key business issues and provide clear and concise analysis of variances between plan, actual and forecasted results to senior management
Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements to drive efficiencies and simplification
Calculate and coordinate quarterly Investment Performance results and prepare presentation for Senior Management
Research, compile and produce quarterly competitor analysis presentation for Senior Management
Monitor and review the quarterly compensation process and distribute to Corporate Compensation
Oversee the preparation of the year end IP and Non IP compensation presentations to Senior Management, to help determine the bonus pools
Collect data from the businesses and drive the analysis for the industry benchmarking surveys
Consolidate financial results from businesses and analyze PGIM’s financial performance under multiple economic scenarios
Assist as necessary with ad hoc presentations for Senior Management (Investor Day, Audit Committee, Investment Committee, Rating Agency and Board presentations, etc.)
Collaborate with the Strategy team on several ad hoc presentations to senior management
Oversee the development and training of the manager and his/her team
Undertake several internal training sessions on the fundamentals of the Asset Management business
Desired Skills and Experience
Undergraduate degree in a business major (Accounting, Finance, Economics)
Advanced degree or designation is a plus (MBA, CPA or CFA)
Strong understanding of financial services industry
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Self-motivated and proactive, with an ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
Easily establishes a rapport with others, as well as builds effective business partnerships
