Job Description:
As the SIG’s director of marketing, you will be responsible for leading a team of marketing professionals located in the US and Asia. You will be accountable for the full portfolio of brand and acquisition marketing programs that drive the positioning and worldwide awareness of the Bluetooth brand. You will also be responsible for programs that accelerate the acquisition of new member companies to the SIG. The position reports to the vice president of marketing and is responsible for the successful development and execution of global PR campaigns, trade shows and SIG sponsored events and all member acquisition marketing campaigns.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develops marketing segmentation schemes, and associated brand positioning and messaging frameworks
Manages global PR firms, supervising strategy and execution of worldwide PR and analyst relations campaigns
Oversees development and implementation of SIG’s worldwide event and trade show strategy, identifying targeted industry events/conferences and build plans to maximize Bluetooth exposure
Develops and executes compelling recruitment campaigns that increase awareness of Bluetooth technology with targeted developers and product manufacturers, converting them into new members of the SIG
Acts as regular SIG spokesperson and evangelist presenting our value proposition before small and large audiences at diverse venues for prospects, executives, media and industry analysts
Leads a team of 3 marketing professionals who are responsible for event execution & brand enforcement, creative design of all SIG marketing materials, and Asia-Pacific regional marketing strategy and programs
Instills culture of accountability on the team, while guiding their professional development and acting as a positive agent for change
Manages assigned budget and meets budget goals
Possess ability to define vision
Encourage, empower, motivate and mentor team members to maximize their abilities
Participates in corporate strategy
Own management of department (processes, resources, budget and all aspects of people management)
Inform, guide and lead Department (positive agent for change)
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and Requirements
5+ years’ related, professional work experience in technology marketing
5+ years’ experience successfully managing technology marketing teams
International and channel marketing experience a strong plus
Bachelor’s degree (MBA a plus)
Comfortable presenting to global technical and marketing-focused audiences; able to merge business and technical concepts and terminology
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and work in an aggressive, deadline-oriented environment
Personally motivated, creative thinking team player who thrives in a cross-functional, global team environment
Ability to have fun while providing leadership and meeting goals and objectives
