Director Locomotive OE Sales Knorr-Bremse North America Watertown

Job Description:
The Director of Locomotive OEM Sales is the primary contact and account manager of the locomotive builders. In addition, they administers all sales activities that pertain to locomotive OEM, including contract review, forecasting, proposals and pricing, order status, receivables, customer visits and trade shows. The position is also responsible for key account management processes for the major locomotive builders for all of Knorr-Bremse as determined by NYAB and KB management.

Essential Functions
Develops quality market analysis and market strategies based on market, industry, economic, regulatory, and customer information/needs.
Collaborate with sales across all functions, implements strategies and plans to meet the growth goals.
Meet or exceed the Sales Budget for the Locomotive OE product line, through developing solid relationships with customers (both locomotive builders and railroads), selling techniques, and negotiation skills.
Assist the Marketing Department in development of market strategies and gaining the market intelligence required to do quality market analysis.
Interface and communicates with customers, agents, representatives, and Knorr employees to expand profitable sales domestically, as well as support of these same goals internationally.
Works closely with the Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, Operations, and Purchasing groups to insure optimal customer service and delivery, product reliability and quality, inventory, and profitable sales.
Provides effective and sound leadership, based on the corporate values, within the Locomotive OEM Marketing/Sales Team, and the inside Customer Service Team. Manages inside and outside locomotive sales personnel including establishing and reviewing their professional and personal goals and objectives.
Develops and maintains a measurement system for both financial and material forecasts, margins, and delivery performance. Works with project management teams and product line managers as appropriate to ensure timely execution of projects with acceptable margins.


Required Skills
Knowledge of Rail Industry or Transporation
Marketing analysis
Skilled in developing and executing marketing and sales strategies
Strong communication and negotiation skills


Required Experience
10+ years of directly relevant Transportation Sales experience preference for Rail
Demonstrated experience in developing and executing sales strategies
Experience managing a team of sales professionals


Education

Bachelors degree in technical engineering or business

Masters degree is strongly preferred
Knowledge of Rail Industry or Transporation
